Just want to announce this race, sorry there is such short notice, it took a little longer to get things nailed down than anticipated.

This is a 1/10th scale electric event in an indoor facilty, so the race runs rain or shine.

We are expanding our track and improving our facility, in order to make the racing as good as it can be.

We have room for over 100 racers and can add pit capacity quickly, with tables, chairs and electricity provided.

We have on site refreshments and a hobby shop, as well as dining, shopping and lodging nearby.

Any questions, call the hobby shop (number on flyer) or contact me through here either in a reply or PM and I will get back to you asap.

I understand where you are coming from, but the race I had last July I had racers that didn't come because it was a two day race.. so the decision was made to make it a one day event.. there will be limited practice available saturday morning before quals start, and we are open late friday..

It took longer than anticipated to get formal approval for the event, hence the 'short' notice.. I would like to have had more lead time, but we work with what we have..

I've received alot of positive response to this race, and expect it to be a great one.. I hope those of you that can make the trip come race with us.

Good luck with this event! Last year we ran the same format, practice Friday all day and late into the night, then racing at 9:00 AM Saturday morning. We ended up with 208 entries for the event. I believe we were done and on our way home around 10:00 PM or so. For any racers who remember from last year, everything went very well with this format, so give the guys down in Ohio a chance, everything should work out okay.

On a side note, make sure to post this event on www.RCTech.net because there are a bunch of guys in Illinois and Wisconsin that do not use HobbyTalk. But if you post on RCTech, they will see it! Cant miss out on those guys, lots of great racers in IL and WI. Again, good luck with your event this year.

Thanks Revo, I'd love 200 entries.. we've had 120 at a couple events, and it went well.. that was with a much later start time, but even the out of towners got home that night :)

I have posted to RC Tech, and RCU, Im going to get a bunch of manila envelopes and mail flyers to every hobby shop I can find.. they got the info on the ROAR website too..

We can be found on facebook as well.. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/En-Hobbies-More/180574331996746

Region 5 is home to the BEST racers.. some of the best clubs, tracks and events too.. glad to be even a little tiny part of it, and I hope to get word to everyone :) If all my RC buddies told all their RC buddies, and they told all theirs, I think we'd prretty quickly have it all covered :) What, 7 steps, right?

Tell you what, I have an email data base of every racer who ever set foot in Proving Grounds. I can email your event flier to everyone if you want? I believe I have around 800 RC racers emails in it from Region 5. Happy to help out if you would like, but I dont want to do anything to step on anyone's toes either.

That would be awesome! No toe stepping there at all :)

I'm all about the spirit of cooperation.. I love this hobby/sport and growing it is my only real goal.. that and having good races :)

So yeah, thatd be a huge help, I know that some people wont be able to make it due to RL stuff, but I don't want people not to come because they didn't know it was going on :)

Thank You!

The format and lack of anyone willing to travel with me. I work nights so in order to be there on a practice Friday I'd have to take a day off. To me personally, I can't justify the travel time and money spent for 2 hours of practice and trying to race 3 classes. Taking a day off this year just isn't happening.

You guys in MI got it great, I wish we had 1/3 of your racers down here lol.

Trust me, I want to support a lot of races on Region 5! When you don't leave work till 2 or 3am, it's hard to be out of state and ready to race by 9am. When I do have time for 2 or 3 day races, it's hard to find the travel buddies anymore.

MI also has a ton of supportive racers and tracks that are used to the 200 entry 1 day events thanks to the series you guys have.

The last time OH had the region 5 race, at crcrc... 60 entries total of I remember right.

Question though for Doug, why did you pick a date so soon. I realize you just go approval. Why not make the date later in the year? It's usually an August or September race.

Yup, I can see where your schedule makes racing tough sometimes.. that in my opinion is one of the factors behind a sometimes stagnant racing scene.. more and more people work weekends, and odd hours.. Itd be hard for me to take a job in any field I have experience in and find a mon-fri gig..

The date was set months ago, and there were several factors.. but the short story is, it was the race we had available, and the date was when the track owners wanted to schedule it. The plan was to have all the info out over a month ago, but I know better than to widely publicize something without final approval..

I'm not trying to make it hard on anyone, to break any traditions, heck, if I could call your boss and get ya a couple extra paid vacation days I would..

60 racers or 200, we'll be ready, and bring our A game..

We have ample parking, trailers and RVs welcome.. we dont have hookups but there is plenty of space.. might be important info for some travellers :)

Bar Codes in Green or Blue, Suburbs in M4, BK Bars in Pink and HB Beams in pink. I have heard good about the new panther tire and switch tire too, but no 1st hand experience.

I'd love to go to a big race in cali, see how the left coast does it :) I'd make a vacation of it.. I bought a scratch off for the 1st time in years today.. sure wish it woulda been the big winner :D

Okay, email sent to my data base. Over 700 racers in region 5 just got an email informing them of the race and giving them a link to the race flier. Again, good luck with your race!

There are three that are whithin less than a mile, but if you google hotel zip 43232 or by our address, tons of em show up. We also have almost any restaraunt you can name near us, and we are right off of I70, very easy to get to.

Thanks Revo, if I can ever return the favor I certainly will.

We're almost ready, I'm changing and grooming the track this wed. and thurs., doors open at 11AM friday, and close at 11 PM. Practice will be segregated as necc. throughout the day.

ROAR entry is $25.00 day of race, and a family membership is $10.00 additional, if not a member. If you've joined ROAR already, print out the email receipt from ROAR or bring your card please.

Hope to see you all there!
