I know it is early to start thinking about the 2010 season when this one is not in the books yet. I was thinking, I know dangerous to do without a net, but I like to live on the wild side.

What can we do to get some new blood?

Would you like to see the season have more races? If so how many and where?

Should we make it where every race is important by eliminating the drop?

We have a new facility in Indy that would like to be considered for a race and possibly start some dialog about hosting a race.Gascar should run in the Racing Capital of the World...and the Midwest needs to host an event.

Here's an older aerial picture of the track...this is before we started work on it.It's fully lighted and has been patched & sealed for this season. We will be having it paved in the spring of 2010 and complete the pit area to support QSAC & GASCAR.
We have onsite camping with electric hook ups, showers, and several restrooms available. Also there's a new(less than 2yrs old)hotel near by and several restaurants...although we do have good concessions at the track.
We're running a 5 class 10th electric program to wrap up this season, but have big plans for 2010.

The run line is around 600'...around 250' straights and 35' wide lanes.

Kevin,
Give me any information you have available of your facility. I am in the process of putting our 2010 GASCAR schedule together, and I am always open to new tracks. We pretty much vote on the tracks we want to run, due to travel expenses, but the track looks awesome. Send me what you can.

I'll have the president of our organization contact you...his name is Floyd Selzer.

He is new to RC and has enlisted a few experienced racers like myself to work as an advisory board to get this deal headed in the right direction and help him run the program.

Thanks Tim...we'll be in touch.

We have a lot of pit area, but we'll need to learn more about track "race pits".This is snowballing into quite a facilty that will have several tracks and I think Gascar would work well here.
There's always the possibility of a race in conjunction with the Brickyard and having show cars on site.We have several Indy car team members that run with us and we would like to do something around the Indy 500 as well.

All just thoughts and ideas at this point. But if Gascar would like to grow, this area would be a great addition to extend there racer, fan, and track demographics.

I simply mentioned the idea of contacting GASCAR last Saturday at the track and I had 4-5 guys ask about what they needed to buy and had questions about what to do this winter to prepare.

Darrell moved up north but I know he would come down for a event and help out with this deal if it moves forward.

Kevin,
I am in the process of putting our 2010 schedule together, I usually post it by the end of the year, so racers can plan vacation time to travel. Have Floyd Seltzer contact me ASAP. Thanks again, Kevin.

I think GASCAR should run 8 races a year, one every month from March through October, maybe even 9 and go to November. We should keep one drop since, as it has been said, it is just a toy car race, and someone should not be completely knocked out of the running if something came up in their personal lives and had to miss one. I think heading up north could help to expand interest in nitro pan car racing, but it would take a while. People would have to see the cars first to get interested, and then have to get one and learn it and such, and it would take a few trips to either of the mentioned tracks most likely over a couple of years to really sustain that interest.

Most of us use the OFNA starter box.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAXU5&P=7

We make a cut-out on the left rear to allow the LR tire to clear, so once the engine starts it does not rub on the box and rip the cap tire.

Any of them will work as long as the starter wheel is in the right place. I personally would stay away from the dual-motor types. The style that I posted a link to has the single LARGE motor and has more power.

If you like I can take a picture of the cutouts I am talking about. But once you get one and put a car on it, you will see what it needs.

If you have any other questions fire away.

Oh, WELCOME to the world of R/C where the battery/motor/ESC of the day wars have NO EFFECT!!! :D:D:D
