Danny...let me say we're using only one pack for each class at the birds...plenty of time in between round to let the pack cooled off...performance wise...not even a problem...it stays the same...if not better!

Dave...Steve is getting a full load of 4200mah tomorrow...don't be fool by other 4600...if you look at there cycling #...there not REAL 4600...i still got packs from last batch that do cycle at 445s...while cycling 455 when new...those # look like 4600 to me...and to all of you that still are afraid of IB's...i saw a lipo burned a whole table last summer...as a racer was charging this stuff in Ill. if you follow what Steve posted over his website(rule of thumb...charging and discharging)...you won't have any problems...make sure you monitor your peak detect...as the pack should never peak ghigher than at 130f range...if so..might be your peak detect too high...0.02 is good for 4cell...and .03 for 6cell

i.d say...go with DPD...to 1volts each...but if your on the rush side...go 030 first..then finished with dpd...as 030 will take some voltage faster...but you got a point...THIS is a must...to equalize the packs each time...this is the best way to prevent boom! situation...oftenly...i saw drivers discharge a pack on a std discharger(T35)down to 3.6...then rehit a charge...what happen is some cells could still have some charge left...and these could overcharge and KABOOM!

1st...the first status of lights(led are lit for a standing 3-4sec) shows the batterys that are hooked(if 6 battery packs are in...all 6 lights will light)...then the second status(a mere flashing led...for a mere second) shows the batterys that are being charged('cause they're under the specified voltage setting)...normaly if all packs are ok...the lights should first shows the packs that are plugged in...then all go out...the ngo back to first stage to shows the packs plug in...

out of my 6 packs plugged in my batt nurse...4 stays ok at 5.2,...then i got 2 that are having a cell that is low...when i see this occur...i discharge with either a dpd or a 030...then recharge the pack for 900 sec....then put back in it...should be fine then....before racing discharge the pack with dpd(or 030)...then charge as normal

rusty...the last two batch(4200) were trouble free(troubles you mentionned)...as far as battery blowout...there will always be...until racers begins maintaining there cells correctly!

Eric

at the USOWC only one battery blew up....and the guy didn't recognize the warning...he had the pack way overcharge.....no problem at all beside that poorly maintained stuff
