as a note,not to correct you.this casting was released as '55 Chevy.after they ran it as a final run a few years they did a new casting.
the new casting is named: 1955 chevy bel air.

the blue one is from the '97 blue streak series.
the yellow one is from the '96 splatter paint series.here is a rim vari.

it could have been because they used mainline cars for the early happy meal cars.

Pegers is correct, i've seen them as Happy Meals cars.
just had a quick look on the net & some individual '55 Chevrolets are listed.
I found these McDonalds ad's (but No '55 chevy among this lot).

There's also a matt dark olive green coloured variation of this one with a brown interior. I try as I might I never saw one on the pegs. I saw plenty of the other one though and snagged a couple.
