A 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air made by Brooklin. In 1955 the Bel Air would be available with a 265 cubic inch V-8 engine option. A long awaited V-8 option for sure!

Great model; that one so exudes '50s Americana, I can almost hear Dinah Shore urging me to take a road trip this weekend! I've seen that memorable color on a few 1:1s - it's called Butternut or something like that, right?

(I almost forgot to mention that my parents bought a new 1954 Bel Air as their first car together - turquoise & white - it was their favorite car, & they still regret trading it in!)

Yes I remember the song well BluntFronts ("See the USA in Your Chevrolet"......America is asking you to call). I also like "Thanks for the Memories" by Bob Hope.

I like the '51 Victoria better Galaxieman. I wish I had another color instead of the green on the standard model. And to you Galaxieman......do you remember the Four Lads singing a Ford promo of "Standing on the Corner Watching All the Fords Go By"? It was sung just like their "Standing on the Corner Watching All the Girls Go By" song.

Brings back mermories.

Wonderfully evocative, even though my knowledge, of US cars, is sadly lacking.

We can all learn by another member's post of the cars in their collection. My knowledge of foreign cars isn't very good, but with your description of the cars that you have posted, I'm learning. Over 95% of my 1/43 scale diecast cast in my collection are American cars from 1930 to 1970. This is what I like the best, but it's nice to see other members posting foreign cars, race cars, and various manufacturers of diecast cars.

I like the variety of cars posted so far in this forum.

I've slowed down in my posting in both this forum and the Johnny Lightning forum. I hope to return active again soon.

Keep posting guys, it looks like this forum is really gaining momentum!
