1.9 and 2.2 refer to the outside diameter of the wheel/rim that is being used. A 1/10 size rock crawler will use a 2.2in diameter wheel. A Losi mini rock crawler will use a 1.9in diameter wheel.

Dig and non dig refer to dig units. A dig unit locks the rear wheels so the front wheels will pull the front end around tight corners. Or another way to explain it is, when the rear wheels are locked, and you turn the front wheels left or right to full lock, and give it throttle, the crawler will pivot around the rear wheels.

Axial is a brand name for a crawler. They make a couple of flavors of that crawler, depending on what you want to do with it. They make everything from a competition oriented crawler to a trail rig.

There are other crawlers on the market also. Losi has the 2.2 comp crawler. Then the Japanese have the Berg, which it has two motors. One on each axle.
Another motor on axle crawler is the Bully made by RC4WD.

Your best bet is to go to this site and do a lot of research before you buy anything. All of the crawlers listed above drive and handle very differently from one another. Here is the site. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/index.php
