I've finished my Airfix 1/144 space shuttle kit, complete with JBOT decals and RSM engine nozzles:

Overall view of dorsal ET/SRB stack. Note added intertank details, aerodynamic ramps and brackets along primary conduits, and other changes.

At the time the photos were taken, the orbiter wasn't finished. I should have photos of that online soon.

Haha, it's too late for that. The orbiter was glued on late Friday night/Saturday morning. It went on pretty well, despite the complexity of the aft umbilical lines. I had added the aft umbilical doors to the orbiter's underside, and painted that area burnt orange, to mimic the coverings (didn't carve out the umbilical bays, though).

Here's a photo comparing it to my first attempt (with the Minicraft kit) :

This is the second-to-last space kit I'm building (last one's an Energia booster, to be fitted with a Polyus payload). I have nine subs on the bench, and I'll post a thread on those once photos are developed.

You might be right. I'd said I was finished last year, after finishing a couple of 1:288 builds. Then I built another Academy stack as STS-107...then a 1:72 Revell orbiter as STS-1 landing, then the 1:125 Soyuz/Progress, then the STC Start Proton-Zond.....

I do have a few models that need to be refurbished. My Airfix Saturn V needs to be rebuilt and repainted (assembled in two days, and painted with a paint marker!) No idea if it's going to become an Apollo launcher, or Skylab I (I have the AMT 1:200 Man in Space kit, with the Sat 5 built as Apollo 11).

Finished!

Finally got the finished photos in today. Take a look:

The decals are a mixture of Airfix and JBOT sets. The open vent doors were achieved using hinge decals from the JBOT set, trimmed to shape, and the egress hatch is the Airfix decal with some modifications. SSMEs and OMS nozzles are from Real Space Models, as are the SRB decals (minus the black rectangles, which are from two Airfix kits (needed eight)).
