Walking the walk after talking the talk. Well more like writing the write(?).
3 wks ago I went to TRU with my nephew and found the Clasic Gold '83 Hurst Olds. Pretty sweet car. So I buy it and take it out of the package becaue I really don't like carrying bags. I was going to free it anyways. So I put the car in my pocket and went to McDonalds to get breakfast with my nephew. An older woman finishes her meal gets ready to leave with her wheelchair bound mother and to make a long story short my car falls out of my pocket un-notice by me. She bends down to pick something up and I move out of her way and her mother starts aking her what the problem was. In a suspicious way she replies "nothing mother, don't worry". So after they leave I start to think what if it was my wallet that fell out of my pocket and she took off with it. So I check for my wallet and it was fine. So I keep sitting there wondering why she didn't want to answer her mother. Finally it hits me my car!!! So I ran out the restaurant and she was nowhere in sight. The lady with her mother and my car were all gone.
Anyone bored yet? I promise it gets better.
So in my quest to replace that car I have been going to TRU every chance that I get. Yesterday to my surprise I found two. As I walked to the register trying to pick the better one of the two I noticed that one had smoked windows and a white interior. So in another thread a while back I wrote about my feelings about scalpers and WL's & TH's. I said that if I ever found a WL I would give it up to someone on this board.
I've decided to make it a contest. The first person to guess where I live gets the car. You have to guess the state and city. And I'll give hints as we go along.
Hint #1: I'm on the continental US.
Below is my post refrenced above about how I feel about scalpers and white lightnings
How about (dare I say it?) not releasing cars with white rims, engines, bottoms, interiors, ect? Quite frankly what car do you see in the streets with white rims? That way you get rid of the scalper. Can't JL issue their rare hard to find items through the web? That way there's a two car limit per address? This way the scalper can't order more than six at most. Everybody gets their fair share. Couldn't HW issue the VW bus again as a regular car so that I, the collector, can get my hands on at least one with out having to pay $20? How about one for the little kid who would do what it was meant for and play with it? To each his own. I don't collect Treasure hunts or white lightings. It saves me a whole lot of heart ache. If I ever (and I do stress the words "if I ever") find one I'll be happy to give it away here on this board. I'll live with my luck and let the scalper wait outsideTRU before they open. I have a job to get to in the mornings!
Its a real big Continental U.S. However something tells me you may be on the Eastern Seaboard?? My guess will be Levitown Pennsylvania! Thanks for the contest!
