Barnabas Collins collectible figure

Since PL won't come out with a Barnabas Collins model kit, I suppose I'll just have to settle for the doll:

I'm probably going to get one as soon as they come out since it's likely they won't sell all that well since PL wouldn't chance making a kit out of it.

Saw these a while back and told my wife"I WANT ONE"! Might get the Quientin one also,but right now not sure.Gotta wait til next year though

.Someone did the werewolf in resin(still have that one when they came out in 70 something)so they should be able to do Barnabus as well.We'll see

^^Yeah, I'm not so sure about the Quentin figure, myself. He was a cool character and all but just didn't have the draw of Barnabas for me.

The lack of a good kit out there makes me want to sculpt one up myself sometime. Dolls are nice but there's nothing like an oil painted kit figure.

The doll seems like a cool deal, however, since you get the three heads and two suits. Wouldn't do to not have his 1700s outfit and vampire face, after all.

Nice to see a doll of Great Great....Uncle Barnabas. But I do not need the doll.

This is a true story. When I was in school,I had the Barnabas Collins game.
In the game it had plastic vampire fangs. Well I took the teeth to school put them in and came up to a girl who I knew was a nervous type. I smiled and said HI. She screamed and ran to hide. I never got to tell her vampires come out only at night. After that I claimed him as my uncle.

Floyd Collins needed a short guy with a car jack to get a watermelon sized rock off his foot (he was in a small tunnel on his back). That's not what he got in Crystal Cave, though.

The government decided to sink a shaft to him, in February, in Kentucky, while making no attempt to warm him, divert a stream of icewater flowing over him, feed him, or even let him know he wasn't abandoned. By the time they got to him he was gone.

Worst case scenario, tie a rock and pull 'till he was free, foot or not, would have saved him.

I've got a friend who's a school teacher who keeps a framed print of Barnabas (that I gave her) up on the wall at school claiming him as 'Uncle Barnabas'. Every one takes her seriously. She even gets the school kids (upper elementary) to dress him up (with addition of construction paper beard and hat) as Santa Claus.

Loved the game as a kid. I played with the teeth and had a blast. Later, when a bit older and mostly having forgotten DS, I used to throw the glow-in-the-dark bones in a darkened room at other kids in mock battles.

I was eaten up with DS when it was on the air. I even got the mail order music box and a couple of the books. Would have gotten more had it been available to me.

I remember getting in front of TV to see DS ,after school. I was a big fan. But as I got OLD I saw episodes on SCI-FI and it just ain't the same. The same goes fo Batman from the 60's. I watch it now and think " I LIKED THAT'". I still love the car, it is my all time favorite.

Oh I remembered that I still have the View Master reels of DS.

Oh, man! Can you scan them? I'd love to see what they were. I never got the ViewMaster version.

I'm the same way on seeing episodes from the 60s of Batman and DS and some others. Like you, 'How could I have liked THAT?' was my reaction at first seeing them as an adult. However, after reading about the shows and understanding them more thoroughly through studying them, I was able to overcome my prejudice and rose-tinted memory so that I could ignore the wobbly sets and blown lines from the 'live' on video (extremely little editing due to expense) on DS and once again appreciate the silliness and fun of Batman.

I hope they come out with Batman on DVD soon. I've got the movie and it's fun to watch even on repeat viewings. Never really gets old. It'd be great to go through the old episodes as well.

I've watched all (I think) of the Green Hornet series on cable in the past several months and really appreciated the fun and comic-book nature of the episodes. Bruce Lee was absolutely astounding in his fighting techniques and acrobatics. It was almost as if he could fly. Incredible actor, perfect for the part.

I think if you take them with a grain of salt and appreciate the limitations of the state of the art of the time, you'll get a lot out of them. The stories, for instance, on DS are mostly based, albeit loosely, on famous classic horror stories from Shelley to Lovecraft.

Big DS fan here.In the living room of our house there are 2 large framed pictures of Barnabus and Angeliue (one of Barnabus was signed by Mr Frid),bumper stickers,comics,the 2 DS games,the old Barnabus vampie mask,the cloak,the black onyx ring and my prized treasure: a Silver wolf head cane like he carried in the show.Man I have spent WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYto much money on some of my collections.Oh well ya can't take it with ya.

^^ Oh, boy! You've got quite a collection there! (I managed to pick up one of the canes a couple of years ago -- I know what you mean, it is VERY nice.)

Your living room decorations speak of incredibly good taste, IMHO!

Not the garage Perfesser.Use one of the rooms in your house.My wife has been real understanding of my interior decorating.In fact people will say "Oh you've already decorated for Halloween".What decorating.This is the way it looks all the time.

I have been trying to scan my ST 35mm film clips but I can't get the scanner to work.
If I can get even one of my scanners to scan it I will copy DS reels. You mentioned the Green Hornet, I have been watching it on ENCORE ACTION and it is alot better than I remember. ACTION is also running episodes of Time Tunnel.
