Star Wars Kits - Wish List!

O.K. it's been a while since we had a wish list. And now that RC/ERTL/PL
has (we hope) the Star Wars licence, I got the idea from another board
to start this thread.

This is what I would like to see:

1/72 AT-AT (w/interior and figures)
1/72 Snow Speeders (w/interior and pilots)
1/72 Rebel Transport
1/72 Tauntauns (w/riders)
1/72 Set of Figures (Han, Luke, Leia, Chewie, C-3PO, R2-D2,
Obi-Wan, Vader, bunch of Rebel Forces, bunch of Storm
Troopers, etc...)

I am sure I will think of more but it's a start.

Come on RC! With the Trek and Star Wars licences you could
take the Sci-Fi world by storm and make a lot of money.

James

Um... wouldn't 1/72 scale figures be kinda.... tiny? I see your point, they'd be handy for diorama purposes with the AT-AT, etc.... but I think 1/35 would be as small as they could go and still have reasonable detail. (A 1/35 AT-AT? Whoa.... )

Tauntauns with riders is a very good idea.

I picked 1/72nd as that seems to be the most popular scale
with Star Wars modelers. Probably due to the Fine Molds kits.
1/35th would be great but then you are getting into really
large kits. How large would a 1/35th AT-AT be?

I know a 1/35th Rebel Transport would be massive.

1/350 Rebel Blockade Runner... That one might even outsell the Refit...

And the Troops- Great Idea! I'd like a bunch of stormtroopers on review (being easy to paint doesn't put me off, either )

Cheers,
Tvrtko

p.s. and, of course, all the other stuff you've mentioned!

Personally, I'd like to see a line of accurate, well-sculpted, and well designed kits in the same scale for a change! Well, within reason, anyway. What I mean is, if a company is going to produce a line of vehicle kits that are similar in size such as the X-Wing, Y-Wing, A-Wing, TIE Fighters, etc., they should all be the same scale. The same with figure kits--select a scale, then stick to it!

Obviously there would be exceptions--I don't expect we'll ever see a 1/72 Death Star or Star Destroyer kit--but it shouldn't be too difficult to create a line of the "smaller" vehicles in the same scale. I think Fine Molds is on the right track. If they've managed to produce five excellent kits in the same scale, why can't anyone else?

Back on topic, put me down for an accurate Death Star in any reasonable scale, and Fine Molds versions of a TIE Advanced (Vader's) and the Millennium Falcon!

That bears repeating.

Mitch, the Tantive is commonly referred to as the Rebel Blockade Runner.

After that, a Y-Wing.

Outside RC2 and wstyrene, I still want a good grage kit of Oola in 1/6th.

I'll throw in my vote for the Blockade Runner -- maybe one more voice will be the one which finally sends it over the edge -- who knows?

Consistent scale is kinda fun, I suppose, but the FineMolds fighters are too small for my taste and for my less than perfectly steady hands. I'd gladly throw consistent scale out the window for kits in a size which allows the best presentation of each subject.

In addition to the Blockade Runner, I'd really like a Y-wing, B-wing, a better A-wing, and a Republic Gunship.

From Fine Molds, in 1/72, I'd like:
Y-Wing
B-Wing
A-Wing
Darth's TIE Advanced
TIE Bomber
T-16 Skyhopper
Milennium Falcon

From RC/Ertl, in various scales, I'd like:

Yeah, Tantive IV, at about 24" long
Luke's old landspeader in 1/25 scale
Super Star Destroyer around 24"
Rebel Hospital Frigate around 18" (with docked Falcon)
Snow speeder in 1/25
AT-ST in 1/35
Jabba's sail barge in 1/72
Jabbas skiff in 1/35
Reissues of the C3P0 and R2 models
Battle Droid on foot with blaster 1/6 scale
Super Battle Droid 1/6 scale
Droideka 1/6
Han Solo on Taun-Taun 1/12
Luke on Taun-Taun 1/12
Sand trooper on dewback in 1/35
Gungan on that 2-legged critter in 1/12
Pile of dead ewoks in 1/12...
