Thats right the Chicago JL Club!!! If your in the Chicago land area or even if your not, This will be a Great club to belong to.
Monthly meetings, Montly News Letters with Classifieds and full of JL Info, Old and New. Annual Exclusive Club cars, and much more.
Full Details are still getting finlized but we are looking for Members who are interested in joining this new club.
Annual Dues will be around 20 bucks per member to cover costs of Newsletters, Website hosting, and Club events.

Not yet, If the club gets big enough and brings people from other states I would love to have chapters expanding all over. For now its starting out as a Local Chicago area Club. The original club did have members from differnt states who never showed up to meetings but took advantage of the Classified ads in our newsletter and Exclusive Club cars.

Is this a continuation of the original club? (with Dave Berten etc)? I was a member of that club for a couple of years.
Can folks from out of state actually join (as before) and take atvantage of the offers.
Also, with the luxury of the internet to communicate and share info more rapidlly and personally (unlike last time where all I ever got was a dated newsletter and a few Code 3 cars), out of state members might feel a bit more inclusive.
I kinda consider HT here a JL collector club. That on top of the official JL / PM collector club and Lightning Fest and the promotional items you get from those avenues. What more does one need? Ah ... human interaction ... right!
We have had a local diecast (mostly Matchbox) club in Seattle for 5 years now. It has been a lot of fun. Of course many members will have varied interests. Like many of our members are also JL collectors including myself.
Our newsletter and meetings are 4 times a year and that seems like a good amount.
Yes peter, this is a newer Version of the old Chicago JL Chapter. But 100 X better. I have lot of new ideas for the Club. We had to wait to get permission to use the name, We got the Green, so Its time to have fun now!
I told Dave I wanted to get the Band Back together, So we are on a Mission from god!
And yes we will have a Full Website with a fourm, chat, and Member only areas. But the site will also be open to anyone. So anyone can come and check out the site and if they want too, they can Join on the Spot to be Full member.
Any one is welcome, even if they are out of state, I will make sure the out of state members don't get left behind, so there will be benifits for the out of state members.

Some people might feel the same way Tiny but on the other hand many people do want more, I respect anyone who isnt interested in our Club and we would like that same respect back, but the Main Idea of this club is to bring active JL collectors together. The main Club is awsome and L fest is a blast but The Main club newsletter are quarterly and the Fest is only Once a year. If you Live near Chicago and can make the meetings you would see just how much Fun this Club is. The old club we had 40 members, almost ever meeing 20 members would come out. Its always a blast hanging out with other Collectors. We Buy, SELL, Trade, Race. Mostly JL but Everything else is welcome. What was also nice was how the Meetings would sometimes be in Different locations monthly, at members houses, this gave members a chance to see other members collections. I Don't know how many times I must of wet my pants looking at some great Collections! Might of Been TMI but it hit the point

Why don't we set you up a recruiting table at Fest this year. It would be free and a great way to add members. Have a display on hand and someone to answer questions about what you do. This is a prime opportunity to get your name and cause out to people who share the love in the same geographical area.

The site is up, Until I can get a Forum up there, I have it redirecting to a site with some basic info. If there is anything I left out, let me know. I'll be working on the homepage in my free time, hope to have it up very soon. The members that have E-mailed me are added to the list as they were received. We have a Dozen members so far. This is awesome! Our First meeting will be in Aug. trying to find the best day and location to start off. Meetings will be on a Saturday, I imagine that is the best day for most people? If not let me know. Our second meeting will be at Lightning Fest! Hopefully this will be the time Our out of state members can all Meet up. This will prob end up as our Annual National Event. makes sense.
