HWC to get rid of trading boards

Yep its true. HWC Gary just posted that there will no longer be a trading section on HWC. I have a feeling that there will be a mass exodus there and more people finding new places to trade...

That's about the dumbest thing I've seen them do. Without the trade board, the whole forum will disappear as that is the main reason most people bother to post there. Without an actively involved community directly connected to the company, the RLC will eventually disappear. Without the RLC, collectors will stop collecting, and soon the only Hot Wheels we will see are dragon, rat and shark cars. With only dragon, rat and shark cars on the pegs, kids will grow up without a love of real cars ingrained in them. Without a love of cars, the masses will force driverless automated transportation on the rest of us. So essentially what this means is that you can thank Hot Wheels for driving around in Pod Cars in 15 years.

I'm sure there is some sort of liability issue that Mattel's legal team raised. With the change to the swap and sell board here, I think most will go to Joe's, etc.

I never really considered their trade area very useful anyways. Who wants to take the time to post an item for sale and not even be able to post so much as an asking price because Mattel likes to pretend that these are never bought or sold for anything other than $.97? *wink*wink*

What they (apparently) fail to realize is it is the buying, selling, and trading of these cars that keeps this hobby alive and exciting for most of us.

Well I would be cautious if we see an influx of traders on HT especially until they establish themselves here. I've heard horror stories of trades gone bad over there.

Some of you from the HWC will recognize my name and if all it takes to get you to come visit this site is to close the trade boards on the HWC then that proves something to me. What? Think it over.. LoL.

Anyways welcome.
