We have a new carpet track in St. Louis now. It's called Prolevel RC Raceway and it's owned and run by Drew Ellis. Drew is a long time on-road racer and the best on-road driver in the St. Louis area. He has many connections with top level people in the RC business and the track has been done 1st class. It has a wooden sub floor with brand new carpet on top. Track area is 32x90. We are going to try different configurations for the oval for a little to find a good size to run on. 32x75 with 12 wide lanes and 10 foot infield for right now.
Well we've been racing here for a couple of weeks now and I have to say this is the smoothest carpet track I've ever run on.
Talked to Drew tonight about doing a big race. Looks like the weekend of January 28-29 would be a good date. I know it's Snowbird's weekend and Drew won't be there, so he's leaving me in charge. I'd like to see how many people would be interested in coming to St. Louis for this race.
Thinking about a 2 day. Saturday doors open at 11am, track opens for practice at noon, racing at 4pm. Run 4 rounds qualifying on Saturday. Sunday doors open at 8am, no qualifying, with Mains and bump ups at 10am.
