Hello everyone, I write to you today looking for input on bringing back K&N speedway in ct.
It is a track that has been running for years and seeing it sitting idle is just something that should not be. I am here to ask for input as I am in talks with the owner to put the track back into operation. I am in the beginning stages so there is a long road ahead of me, I need to find suppliers and people to come back there. What I am looking for here is basically if you guys would come back or do you think the hay day is gone and it should stay that way? I am ready to move forward but I am not sure if there is a serious interest in continuing racing I know there is a whole new generation of racers out there as I have one myself but with all the flat tracks out there does anyone want to race on a banked oval any more ?
Guys Thanks for the interest thus far! I wanna do this but, need your help to pass the word along and, I would also like your input as to what you would like done differently. I will take any and all suggestions.
I would be there in a heartbeat and now that my son is racing i would have him with me .A suggestion would be to offer a beginner or novice class to bring new people into the sport.best news ive heard all year.
I love the Banks, but truth be told, the reason it closed was that there is just not enough intrest in bank tracks to make any money.
the last 5 years it was run, there was only about 6-10 people on a regulay basis...
about 15-25 on a trophy race day. Even the last couple of winter blast only saw
30 or so drivers....
Not trying to be negitive, just the voice of reason.
if it opens i will come! I also have lap counting software for the PC if needed.
that is already planned!! the exact type of car is up in the air, not sure if I want to use a pan car or maybe legend car? still early for that plenty of time for that!
Actually that brings up another question. I know everyone has plans for the summer so it slows down my big debate is whether to try and get opened up ASAP or try for Aug- Oct ?
you should look at the tour rules sportsman truck for the spec class maybe use windtunnel or similar spec tires instead of the wgt tires which might be a little grippy for a right front there, batts are cheap and good used can use cheap speedos like the gtb2 or anything brushless and still be competitive.
