The eighth round of Puerto Rico National Championships were held in Barcelonta this past weekend. In the 1/10th scale class Mugen team driver Andy Báez, driving a MTX4R, was once again in top form taking the TQ spot and going on to win the 30 minute final. The battle was for the second position between Mugen team mate Javier Laureano and Kyosho driver Pedro Alvarado, but 4 minutes to the finish of the race and Laureano had a touch with another car, allowing Alvarado up into second position. In 1/8th scale Báez also took the TQ spot and was leading the whole race until the last 6 minutes when had some fuel issues while 2 laps in front. This dropped him down to 2nd and gifted Edgar Tirado the win driving a Serpent 966, with Carlos Fuentes driving a Kyosho took 3rd spot. Thanks to Zobeida Ocasio for the report.
