O/T: R.I.P. Les Paul

Well, today should be made into a national day of mourning. Guitarist and recording pioneer Les Paul has died at age 94. His contribution to the music industry was enormous. He was so cool. Wow.

As a fellow Wisconsinite, I was saddened to hear of his passing. Les was from Waukesha, Wisconsin which is about a half hour from me.

Very sad news indeed . The NY station 104.3 had tributes all day to Mr. Les Paul. My favorite was when Steve Miller in a recording(I forgot Steve's age but he sounded like he was 9) was being encouraged to sing by Les Paul. They also said that Les was still performing at 90+ weekly at local bars. Not sure if thats a fact but if it is...... "That's amazing!!!" . This beers for you Mr. Paul

Didn't he basically invent the electric guitar?
A true hero.

Pretty much, and multi-tracking too.

Yeah, pretty much. "The Log". A 2x4 wired for sound.

Still works! Jimmy Page gave us Led Zepplin, too many to list.
I have a solid body here, I should pick it up again.

I think it's very unfortunate so many younger people don't realize how much modern guitar owes Mr. Paul. He was a legend.
