O/T Window glass?

It just keeps getting better! I dont want to go through all the trials and tribulations this week has givin me. But I have to ask this stupid question. Can heat weaken glass in a car in the sun? All windows up and sealed pretty tight. To the point of busting easily.
I'm kinda upset right now... I need to watch my vocabulary (respect for HT).
Anyway, I'm scrapping my Town Car.
I'm thinking of scrapping the Vair as well.
I'm done with the real ones.

Yup. I was actually standing next to my car one day when it was about 95 out. Right in front of me the window cracked then shattered all over the place.

Thanks Puppycat, I thought I made an enemy or vandalism. Mine is white with a 8 inch hole in it. Cat prints all over it. Of course everything here has cat prints on it.
Its no longer worth putting money in it. I feel better though. It did it by itself.
Anybody need a good 302?

I've seen at least half a dozen cars with heat shattered windows in my life. It seemed to be more common on mid-60s Chryslers.

It's a trade-off around here. Whenever I try to leave the windows cracked a bit on hot days, the wasps get in. I hate that, too!

I wonder how hot it must get inside a car in the summer ~ especialy for you suthuners.

Must be pressure build up that pops 'um.

I know up here if the windshield's covered in ice & snow and you crank up the defrost
real high the w-shield'll crack.

Bob, is the Corvair rusty? If not you should get SOMEthing for it.

Should be able to sell them both off , even as parts cars if necessary . Youd get more than junkyard price ...
