R/C Race'n Radio Show Recap

Hello racers,

If you did not get a chance to listens to tonight’s R/C Race’n Radio Show here are some of the highlights that you missed.

Brushless Oval Champ is Coming Back
Last years Novak Midwest Brushless Oval Challenge Champion TJ Domark is coming out of retirement to compete for the BSR Brushless Oval Tour Championship. You can also expect to see TJ’s traveling side kick and all around nice guy Terry Warner back in action this season. Look for the two to make their first appearance in November at race number 2 in Vinton, IA.

[BRL Brushless Rental Program
Do you have a friend that want’s to take part in a BRL race but does not own a Brushless system. We have the solution. Thanks to an exclusive agreement between the BRL and Novak beginning with race number 2 we will have a rental program in place.

For a small fee of just $30 (plus a refundable deposit ) you will be able to bolt in a New Novak GTB Speed Control and your choice of a 13.5 system or a 4300SS motor. Quantities are limited for each race so please contact me if you would like to reserve a system. sbrown15@insightbb.com

The Novak ALL-Star Challenge
This Special event will see the best BRL Sportsman Stock, Pro 4300 and Pro Modified drivers go head to head and compete for the lions share of the $1200 cash purse.

The event will take place on Friday and Saturday nights of the Novak National Finals weekend. Drivers will compete unique qualifying format using the Pro 4300 rules package

To be invited to the All Star race a driver must TO or win an A-main at any of the first six BRL Regional Events. We will kick things off on Friday evening with the Novak All Star Open.

Friday Night The Novak All Star Open
Driver will be split evenly into one of four group and draw for starting position. The will then compete in a 100 lap qualifier with the top 2 finishers moving on to Saturday Nights Big Money All Star Showdown.

Saturday Night The Novak All Star Showdown
After qualifying for the Novak National finals is complete the All-Star showdown will take center stage. This race will consist of 8 drivers competing in 3 segments.

Segment-1: Drivers will compete in a 50 lap qualifier, the winner will receive a cash bonus of $75. The last place car will be eliminated. Driver will be given a 10 minute break to prepare for the next segment. During this time the winner will draw a pill to determine the starting order inversion for segment 2.

Segment 2: This will be a 75 lap segment with the winner receiving cash bonus of $75. The unique twist for this segment is the drivers will need to pit and watch his two man crew make a two tire stop. Once again the last place driver will be eliminated. Driver will be given a 10 minute break to prepare for the final segment. During this time the segment 2 winner will draw a pill to determine the starting order inversion for the final segment.

Segment 3: The final segment will be 100 laps with winner taking home $500.

All Star Challenge Payout $1200

1.) $500
2.) $150
3.) $100
4.) $70
5.) $65
6.) $60
7.) $55
8.) $50

Segment 1 Winner $75
Segment 2 Winner $75

BSR Brushless Oval Tour Points Fund

At seasons in addition to receiving some nice awards the top 10 drivers in each division will split one of the largest point funds in R/C oval history. Estimated to be in the neighborhood of $5000.

The point fund will be based on a portion of entry fees, BRL Tour T-shirt sales, and sponsorship. The more racers that compete the larger the purse will grow.

Payout percentage will be divided based on class participation at seasons end. Example the Pro 4300 class will likely have a larger payout then the Pro modified class because of the increased number of overall entries.

Also the RaceFanRadio.com $1000 Bonus is still up for grabs to any driver who can win the overall points title in any two divisions.

Add them it all together, The All Stat Event, The BSR Points Fund, The RaceFanRadio.com Bonus, Race prizes and awards. The Novak National Finals weekend will see a potential payout of over $10,000 dollars in cash and awards.

Brushless at the 2007 Snowbird Nationals
Snowbirds promoter Mike Boylan also called in to show support of the BRL and gave a preview the largest R/C race in the country The 13th Annual 2007 Snowbird Nationals in Orlando Florida,

Mike also announced that for the first time ever Brushless cars will see action at the Birds. A New Tradition will begin as Novak will sponsor the Brushless 4300 oval class at his years event

Just want to say a big Thank You to Doc Love and the R/C Race'n Radio crew for letting us talk a little oval.

Also forgot to mention RC Driver Magazine has come on board as a sponsor. Look for an article or two this season and coverage of the Novak National Finals and All Star Showdown.
