I was in 2 TRU's last night picking up the last of the 1/24 Gold Series. While checking out, BOTH clerks whispered they may be going out of business lock, stock, and barrel. Has anyone else heard this?
Yep, those dino bones were the thing! Only problem, it kept getting increasingly difficult to find a decent bone carver if you wanted something a little more upscale.
Sadly most kids today have no imagination of their own. They will not be the dreamers or inventors of tomorrow.
I open all my cars and I played with them with my kids (they had their own). Patterns on the floor became roads, ruffled blankets were caves, and we made dioramas.
That changed when my son's friends would come over, pick up a car, ask "what does it do?" and then put it down in disgust when he found out it would not entertain him.
But both of my boys still kept their cars (they're in their 20's now). And my oldest says the times we played and went on 'toy car hunts' to the store together are some of his best memories ever...
I don't think they are going out. They are building a huge distribution center for internet sales in Columbus, OH right now adding about 400 jobs to the area.
