I found this today and fell in love with it. It's made by Toy Zone. The series is called Hot Rod Underground. These are Robert Neumann concepts, and this is called the Trackster. I didn't find anything about it on their web site, but I have seen it on other sites listed as 1:43 scale. It's a bit larger than 1:43, but it's close enough to post it here. There is also a chopped sedan model that accompanies this casting. Both are available in a variety of color combinations. I thought this one was the best. I guess the $4.99 price tag isn't too bad for these. It might be a little high priced for what you get, but I really like these. I plan to but a couple more of them.

That a cool car ZEB! I've never seen one. Thanks for posting a pic of it.

Where did you get it?
I found these at a couple of Meijer stores (kind of a big department store with groceries) here in Michigan. I'd never heard of them before, and one day they just appeared. There seem to be only two 1:43 castings, this one and the sedan that I mentioned. However, there are also a couple of 1:18 pieces as well as other hot rod culture items. Other items include flying eyeballs (ala Von Dutch) and miniature bowling pins that are flamed or pin striped. I hope to pick up a couple more of these this week. I'll post pictures when I get them.
I hope that these sell well enough to encourage toy zone to produce more of them. I would love to see some other designs.
My feelings exactly about them selling well ZEB. With the problems with JL/RC2 1/64 scale cars lately, I most likely will devote my time to my 1/43 scale cars that I already own. Fall and winter will be a good time to enjoy my 1/43 scale cars, and to enjoy this new 1/43 scale forum.
JL/RC2 will most likely will increase their prices next year. A 1/43 scale made by a company that is priced to compete with JL/RC2 would be great!
In my opinion, 1/43 scale is the best scale to collect. It isn't too big and is capable of showing better detail than 1/64 scale cars. Most quality 1/43 scale cars are much more expensive than the JL/RC2 cars however. The newer castings made by JL/RC2 are just AWESOME! With these 1/64 scale cars selling for $3-$4, it's easy to see why they are so popular.

That is exactly why I like this scale most of all.
I've always liked 1/43 scale the most ZEB. Just a GREAT SCALE to collect!
They big problem with 1/43 scale is the price. A quality 1/43 scale car is just too expensive to buy!
A brainstorm comes to STUTZ's mind. JL/RC2 makes really nice 1/24 scale diecast cars at an affordable price (about $12.99 at TARGET and TRU). They even make 1/18 scale cars, but I've never seen then in any of the stores in my area.
Why can't JL/RC2 make 1/43 scale diecast cars? If they were in the $8-$10 price range, and had the quality like the 1/24 scale cars that they already make, I'd be buying a bunch of them. The early JL cars in 1/43 scale were not very good in quality. I believe I bought a Camaro with the Spiderman graphics on it. I can't remember what I did with it.
I would be GREAT if JL/RC2 read this and considered making some quality castings in 1/43 scale (no crazy tampos, just realistic looking cars)!
