I'm in no rush for thier generous offer. But this line in the "Transforming the Johnny Lightning Collector Club" letter seemed to be a waste of time and space.

In there defense. With nothing new until 2007 what are they suppose to post. Just wish they didn't say they were gonna.
"Monthly updates aren't going to start till next year when and if they restart the line."
You said it... I have strong doubts that we will really see a true makeover and new models next year. I have been looking at the resets and clearance prices in TRU, and it is not a pretty sight for JL.
They are moving JL to the back endcaps of the store in some of the worst locations possible.
TRU has all the JL's marked way down, red tags, looks like a going out of business sale, or at least a getting rid-of-the-line sale. I thought stores were going to be getting all the old warehouse stock that didn't get distributed properly during the year. Has anyone seen this yet in their stores?
Just a hunch... But I would say that the "new" Johnny Lightning Collector's Club will be like what Racing Champions offered in 1999. A 1/64 diecast for $9.99 and a free subscription to "The Replica." Raise your hand if you signed up when that was offered...
I did. Wanna take a guess at how many times a renewal was offered? Or how much useful info was gotten from their online mag? Or how often it has been updated?
This free deal from Johnny Lightning has the typical m.o. of the equivilent of a fart in church that RC/Ertl is notorious for... Not holding my breath.

I am patiently waiting for the new JLCC to become a reality.
I am willing to cut RC2 some slack on this issue as the company tries to
address and correct many of the serious problems that they have had with
the JLCC, distribution and many other things.
I just want to be a happy JL collector again with the ability to find new
product on the shelves of stores locally.
Please make it happen.
