A way back on July 7th, I placed an order with Macs for some of the newest Street Freaks out, release 24. I ordered 3 sealed inners and all the BWF Vettes and GTOs that were available, 9 of each. Got an email from Rob stating that the order was shipped on July 8th.
Well a week goes by, then another week, and I'm starting to worry. Still no box. Rob assures me it'll come and says let's give it up to a month. Well another week goes by, and another, and now it's a month. We're at the point where we believe it's lost for good.
Rob and I have discussions about how to replace the order and we come to an agreement. Even though the original order was not insured, Rob fills the replacement order and tells me it will ship later this week. In the mean time he files a lost article form at the PO and they say they would look into it. I personally didn't get my hopes up, figuring it was just a formality and it would never be found.
Well, fast forward to yesterday, August 17th. We were out all day at an amusement park and went to dinner at a HWs themed pizza restaurant near the park. Got home late and no lights were left on at our house. The lights from the minivan caught the mailbox and there was a small priority mail box in the hooks under the box along with the regular mail.
I stumbled in the dark up to the door, and almost fell over this huge brown box on my porch. Yes, it was, the missing package from July 8th! It sat on my porch for about 10 hours, after its 40 day excursion from IL to CT. The box told no tales, but was none the worse for wear.
Everything inside was fine, as you will see below a couple surprises were included.
From the loose car orders:
From one of the sealed inners:
So I let Rob know the original order came, and he tells me I don't need to buy the replacement order! Is that too cool or what?! I'm sure we still have some talking to do on that subject.
Thanks again Rob, for seeing this through for the last month and a half. It sure was an experience, albeit a long one, but certainly with a happy ending.
