If Road trip didn't prove somebody from RC2 isn't paying attention over here then I don't know what will? With that I see this as an opportunity to provide some positive feedback on "premium" likes and dislikes so that other options might come to be. Here are some of my feedback. Not in order of importance
1. Loved the RT stuff. A little large in scale but going the right direction. With a tweak here and there in size and I praise you all day long. The soda machine and gas pumps rock and the Teepee and local animals is a pleasant surprsie and a nice twist. I think the soda machine and gas pumps can go further before worn out especially in other colors and markings but the teepee would/could have a shelf life.
2. Car covers. Didn't get it at first but I like it now.
3. I missed out on these and really wish I could get them today or perhaps get this started in other series. Patches. Those Topper patches on the premium end were cool. I didn't want to spend the extra .50 or so cents but on a permium line, a patch would be pretty cool now.
4. Like to see scale people, On the Calender series, make the scale model in a figurine.
5. Other scale items are fine, petrolina, mail boxes, pak benches and park lights etc. Drag strip equipment, Shadetree mechanic stuff etc.
6. Water slide stickers were given up on too early. A tweak here and there could be pretty cool, COPO decals, Roush Racing, Saleen paterns etc to turn your factory car into the premium is a neat option as well as custom graphics and or the sponsor decals used with the older Spoilers, even gumball number slides.
At one time I liked the photocard but I understand how limiting, time consuming and problematic it can be besides what can you really do with them? They can go away and other items I could easily do without include bumper stickers, pogs, coasters, faux keys, magnets. When you lock yourself into something as lareg as a deck of cards, make the side items available in more ways then just castings because I'm NOT going to buy any casting just so I can get the 2 of spades to complete a set. Know what I mean?
If we are going to be offered them at least I'd like to have a voice in it.
Thanks
Me

I think you hit EVERYTHING on the head with what you said!
I like the Road Trip stuff, and you could eventually put together a diarama of sorts with these pieces. Very cool idea, but in better scale. The possibilities are endless as to what could be packaged. People, and signs, as well as dragstrip goodies would be awesome.
I would like to see car covers with Nascar castings. I would pay extra to have my favorite drivers in excellent detailed JL flair.
I like photocards, but there is the problem of including them in nice disply setups...
I'd like to see little floor jacks, jackstands, gas can, and extra wheels (stock set on car with custom set or cragars on the car with steelies for the drag strip). The set could be called "Monday Driver/Saturday Racer."
I Say Bring On The Goodies, Drop The Useless Stuff, Photo Cards To Me Are Okay , I Like It With Ycits, Other Than That , I Could Leave Them, Funny Enough I Still Keep Them Though.
4. Like to see scale people, On the Calender series, make the scale model in a figurine.
Due to the success of the 1/18 Fast Women figures I believe these would sell on their own.
5. Other scale items are fine, petrolina, mail boxes, pak benches and park lights etc. Drag strip equipment, Shadetree mechanic stuff etc.
I enjoy taking pics & these would make great props. Scale buildings (reasonably priced) would also be welcomed. RC2 already makes models so this should be easy. Some old car dealerships, diners, gas stations, drag strips etc. would be great. Sell the buildings then include the accessorys with the cars.
I pretty much agree with everything you said, especially the following...

I praise JL for listening. I know they can't produce everyone's idea because of marketing concerns. I would also like to add they I think they have been doing a great job with their newer castings.
I'm a collector who enjoys realism and factory correctness. This is why I collect JL's. With this in mind, the only other piece of advice I'd like to give is that I would like to see them do a better job on their research when deciding what options to use on their castings. For example, their latest '70 Cuda release from the Calendar series mixed an incorrect hood with the tampo (engine designation used). Another I can think of is placing white hockey stripes on '70 cudas (they only came from the factory in black for 1970). The tampos themselves are excellent....I just would like to see them used correctly.

I like all these ideas. Scale buildings would be so cool. I have been seriously thinking about doing some display dioramas and this would really get me started.

I would like to see 1/64 scale buildings also. Gas stations, Car Dealerships, and Drive-in Fast Food buildings (my favorite) would be welcomed by collectors! These could be made easier than the extremely small garage accessories (floor jacks, jack stands, welders, oil cans, creepers, etc.). I would like to see 1/64 garage scale accessories, but I realize that the are hard to make in this small scale. The garage scale accessories would be great!
I hope Russ (Milezone) has luck in his 1/64 scale garage accessories project. I surely would buy it!
Patches are cool. I bought a 2nd set of the 30th Anniv. patch cars just for the patches.
That would be a great Fest premium, and could be independently produced by most embroidery shops from your own custom design. (Mike G., Shonsky, Mod, any takers?)
Haven't seen the Road Trip premiums in person yet, but have seen most of the others. Regardless of how well done they are, I don't find myself using or displaying them once they are out of the package, so I guess you could say I don't put a premium on them!
Hahaha,I made a funny joke, sort of. (wanders off down the hall, mumbling ....)
I for one would love to see buildings. Dragstips are ok, but not my thing. Granted i did pick up a heck of a lot of Dragsters from the Box sets.
Gas Stations, Food Joints, Hotels and the likes would be great.
I haven't seen the Road Trip series here but those assessories are pretty interesting. (At least in the pictures)
I am really interested in the playsets/Buildings.

I'm pretty sure that "S" gauge railroad accessories are 1/64 scale; although it's not the most popular gauge for model railroads, there are a few S-gauge clubs with websites on the internet. They must have some buildings and people available somewhere.
In fact, if I ran RC2 I would link up the JL name with the S-gauge folks and their manufacturers - maybe become the official diecast of the S-gauge hobby. The S-gauge modelers are probably looking for highly detailed 1/64 automobiles to complete their layouts all the time, and of course, JLs are the best available!

I'm looking forward to seeing RT accessories in person; looks like a good idea.
I like the boxes that come with 60s Sizzle releases. After that, I guess fridge magnets are second best. The rest I could do without, especially the fake keys.
