Found their stash...again...& robbed "em

Well, It happened again. Went to the only local TRU & could tell that they had recently put out the new Chevy Thunder Rel. 5 from which I was looking for the new silver "66 Nova. All of the cars from the case were still there except one "71 Chevelle and not one of the Nova's ? Kinda odd that someone would come in and only buy ALL the Nova's. Since I knew the stockers like to hide the good cars (last time they hid ALL the new Gremlins & ALL the new black split window bugs from the case-which I found in the overhead bins and bought one of each & hung the rest back on the pegs). So just for grins I decided to look in the overhead just in case they didn't figure out a new hiding place. Nothing. So I went around the corner from the car aisle and looked in the first overhead bin I came to......BONANZA.....There, once again, was a stack of JL cards, All 3 of the silver Nova's and the 1 missing Chevelle from the set. Well looky here, the Chevelle just happened to have a white interior and a white bottom. It also looked like maybe there were still some cards up there so I stood on the bottom shelf (I'm kinda short) and reached all the way to the back & pulled out 2 more cards. No Johnnies but I did pull out an Asphalt Assualt & A '40 Ford TH.
I really had no need for the Brand X TH's and was going to leave them but since "who-ever" decided to be so greedy and take and hide all 3 of the Nova's, I decided to take them all. I put the 2 extra Nova's back on the pegs and walked out with a '66 Nova, '71 Chevelle WL and the 2 TH's.
What I want to know is, when did "they" start hiding and hoarding regular issue cars ? I can uderstand scalping the WL's & TH's but why the regular cars ? Is this hobby actually getting that cutthroat or do I just live in a bad area ? I know a couple of the local scalpers and they're real greedy a-holes but this is getting a little ridiculous or is this going on everywhere ? I thought about talking to the manager about this but I don't really know that it would do any good since the last manager was actually the one pulling the cars from the cases and giving them to his friends. Anyone have any suggestions or do I need to just suck it up and live with it ?
Boy, I don't post often, but when I do, they're sure long ones.....sorry

I doubt the manager will do anything at all.It happens all of the time here.If they aren`t keeping them for theirselves the local scalper is probally paying them to sit them to the side.

Congrats on your finds!! I wouldn't tell the managers anything. Just let them keep hiding stuff. You are having good luck that way. It is clearly a stocker stash. (I love TRU for this reason) When I go to strange TRU's, I always look over, and under the shelves. I have good luck as well finding stashes. I found the Chevelle hanging this morning as well! Sweet White, huh?! (they are all sweet when they are whites)!

Do the happy dance!

I've found that it doesn't do any good to complain or draw more attention to the already existing problem, it can just make things worse. Your on to games that are played and thats what counts. Just play along, keep your eyes open and you sniffer in good shape

Its a flip top lid sort of, it hides the top storage shelf and it about head level if not just abit higher. If the employees see you lifting it they tell you not to. It a place where they put stuff so its out of sight and its out of mind.

I suspect the same thing here . The Gold cars were restocked , but no AMX's were out .. Looked in a couple upper bins , but didnt find any .. Ive also been 'yelled at' to stay out of them by TRU employees....

Good for you. I saw your first post on this subject. Ever since I have been looking for overhead bins with no luck. I think either the clerks* have a hiding place that only employees can get to or I have the world champion of local scalpers living in my area.

there was a few stores I used to lift up the bottoms of the shelves at and find some stuff ( family toy ) , some stores won't let the employees set stuff aside and they can only buy stuff when they are off the clock

The local TRU does not have overhead bins anymore. Probably had too many problems with them.

I remember one time about a year ago or so, I hid 12 or 13 HW Rams in a certain spot, and I came back a couple months later and they were still there. WIN!
