I saw a sign the other day....think it was at TRU...but it may have been Target....stating they put out their stock during the day "when it comes in"....and not overnight!
Think this will stop the early morning door crashers?
Think it will help up regular folks get some coveted diecast?
I think this a weak attempt by these stores is to placate the complaints of back room scams (as what I was half told by a Target employee); frankly I still think a lot of that occurs (look how many we read here on a near daily basis!).
Truth of the matter is they stock the merchandise when they get around to doing it - whenever they get to it - day or night (and provided they have able bodies to put the merchandise out).
I've been advocating this strategy for a long time now, random stocking, can the morning olympics. I hope it happens chain wide.
I have been in a store that had one sign on an endcap that said they would only restock overnight, and in the aisle of that same store the sign said they would stock when items came in. Seems like even the store doesn't know when they restock!

I believe it does. My last three trips to TRU have all yielded some good finds:
current Classic Gold and Mopars, and, on the last trip, the Big Boats.
I've seen these signs in different stores over about 5 years.. seen at Target, Meijers, TRU...on and off...sometimes they stay up, sometimes they dissappear... but nothing ever changes as far as finding good/new stuff
Somehow I doubt this will make much difference. The other day I was in my local TRU and the cashier asked me if I was a collector. (I was buying a couple of the JL 2-packs at the time.) She said that if I wanted I could ask an employee to go to the back and see if there are any boxes back there. Because they rarely put them out...
