RIP Barnabas

Just heard about this on FB. A sad day for all Dark Shadows fans.

From Wikipeda...

Jonathan Frid died peacefully of natural causes on April 14, 2012 at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario.

He will never be forgotten.

That Sucks. He didn't even get to enjoy a revival in the aftermath of the Burton version.

Suprised more folks aren't commenting. He was an iconic horror (melodrama?) figure from the 60s.

Too bad he missed the premier of the new movie...or maybe not.

Hey wait - he's a vampire, he can make the midnight showing!

RIP Mr. Frid.

The original and greatest Barnabas of them all! He was also an accomplished actor in many other venues (I've actually seen him in movies besides DS) and a lover of the English language. He will be missed!

That's sad to hear... I'll bet he saw one of the promos for the new film. That would probably put anyone that was part of the original in their grave.

I believe that he has a cameo in the new movie, as do a lot of the original actors.

He actually passed on Friday the 13th. The family wanted to wait a while to make an announcement.

I'm sure that date suited him!

Sad to see him go. I am currently watching all the "Dark Shadows" episodes on Netflix. Great show!

He is special to me because of his role in Dark Shadows and a character with my last name, that I enjoyed coming home from school looking forward to see.He will live on in videos, forever.

I'm glad he died peacefully, and not a stake in the heart.
