Oh yea, obviously the adhesive remover would attack the hood decal so watch it. You could hang the BMW off a hook or hanger of some kind so only the grille makes contact with a shallow pool of the Goo Gone.

Or, you could carefully brush it on the grille alone. I think this product is now in a gel form so it stays wet when applied. let it soak.

    Jim,

I was browsing around and saw your comment on magic marker in the grille of BMW 3.0 CSL. Get some Orange Goo Gone adhesive remover, suspend by the rear of the car to soak the grille, several hours or even days. The adhesive remover will not remove the paint or harm any clear plastic, but should loosen the marker so you can brush it with a toothbrush and remove. Be careful with any rubbing on the front end - the paint can soften a little and make it easer to scratch, even though I have never removed (soaked loose) any paint finish this way. I soak entire castings in Goo Gone to remove tampos from new vehicles and you can rub the paint off if too aggressive removing the tampo. I usually use soft rags dampened with Goo Gone to buff them off. Resoak and lightly brush the grille only and you should be good to go.
