Sorry, I came onboard at ERTL after the BOP. Funny thing, I was visiting Rick Sternbach's studio at Paramount one time and there were a bunch BOPs they were going to blow up for a scene in Next Gen. I had photos of the landing gear at one time because I was going to scratch build some too. Just got them off the web. I did however design the Cardassian Galor class ship. Great reference photos of the studio build. Noticed two Phillips head screws holding the rear panel on so I put these on the model kit. Attention to detail, ya know.

    Hi btbrush
Wow an actual Star Trek kit designer on this website from Ertl . That is very cool . Were you involved with designing the Klingon Bird of Prey ? This one of my favourite kits . My question to is : are there any decent photo's of the landing gear used on the BOP from Star Trek III : the search for Spock ? The white metal landing gear from the Round 2 kit is sturdy but lacks detail and is too close together compared to the studio movie . My best reference is the landing gear from the Art Asylum (Diamond Select ) Klingon BOP . Is there any reference material you can think of ?

    Regards Alan (Oggy4u)
