In the race class it says "no lowered bodys" and must have stock front and rear glass.

Think I went to far?

It's shorter and lower but the body has not been lowered or shortened. Also the side glass has been removed to lower the center of gravity as well as the tires being trued and shortened.

I tryed the hot water treatment and ended up ruining some bodies. No this one I held a lighter and quickly passed the car back and forth then held the body until it cooled in the desired position. I did have to dremil the wheel arches some. It corners better due to the lower center of gravity and therefore it's quicker around the track.

Nice job! FYI, empty your PM box, I tried sending you a note, and it said it was full...

I'm curious, So are those changes legal in an official solt car race?

I'd imagine that a weenie tech inspector would interpret your heat deforming process as being body lowering. I on the other hand praise you for your ingenuity. That particular body is great for racing.

Thats just creative rule intrepretation. Mans gotta do what a mans gotta do! About the only reason I can think of not to allow lowerin of bodies is maybe for the less experienced guys, but our outlook is we teach em how to do these things that dont add any cost, but make a dramatic improvement in handling and looks. It helps us build commeradarie and once they pick up on these details its really suprising what ya learn back from them as they arent stuck in years of doin things the same old way like some of us old farts! Nice job Goose. Circle Track DAC

My race group also allows lowering, and we encourage it so the cars look better and we can better resist the urge to just start shoveling money into parts... well, "more" money into parts. :)
