Since Racing Champions does a lot of NASCAR diecasts, and with the acquiring Playing Mantis (which is making the X-Traction and Tuff-Ones slotcars), who out there would like to see RC2 to release an X-Traction series of current NASCAR cars, along with a series of vintage Afx NASCAR type cars? Aurora made several 70's bodies and now RC2 has the rights to the molds. Here's the 70's Nascar bodies Afx made back then:
Dodge Magnum
Plymouth Roadrunner
Ford Thunderbird
Chevy Chevelle
AMC Matador
73 Dodge Charger
Mercury Stocker
AMC Matador Fastback
Did I miss any? RC can make a release of now and them cars. Here's some pictures (http://groups.msn.com/Davesslotcarspage/cars.msnw) of a Chevelle, Charger and a Magnum.
Awesome idea! I'd love to see it!

Driver's Sponsor's want MONEY for license of names and images. RC2 cant get many NASCAR Nextel cup drivers. Either RCI-Action or Team Caliber have most all of them.

Which eliminates most of the current crop of drivers, but perhaps a classic series of NASCAR drivers would be a big hit. Imagine a field of Superbirds, Daytonas, Talladegas, and Cyclones to pick from. How about '80s Thunderbirds and Monte Carlos (and clones)?
I would've like to have seen some current Nascar cars done as X-Tractions, but some 80's cars would be cool. I'm sure you NASCAR guys would love to see a Skoal Bandit running around the slot track.

the Skoal car was already done. The last ones that RC2 would do would be beer and tobacco sponsors. Too much hassle with the sponsors and government regulations.
All of these are GREAT idea's that will not happen soon. Everybody wants money for their name or logo or image. What SHOULD be done is just make the old style castings(molds). Then paint then similar colors but leave off the numbers and sponsor decals.
There are MANY small scale decal makers out there that already have or can make the correct decals for 1/64. 1/43 ... scales.
