I wanted to start up a new thread for us local racers to chat about what ever is on our minds. Wether you race touring, oval, or offroad. we need a thread like this a racers thread.

This is a good idea Dave. If someone wants to talk about something that's not directly invoving our local hobby shop or an individual event thats taken place it can be discussed here openly without stepping on anyones toes. Capiche?

How about those Rc4less tires? Man they're awesome.

I guess I'll be #4 to post lol...Just wondering how many J'ville area racers are out there besides us. Who all are going to the Birds? I was planning on it but it looks like I'll be a spectator again. Had to decide the birds or state on road series.

I think that I am going to revamp my racing program to included alittle offroad and some touring and oval state series races. Eugene if i had to choose between snowbirds or a state race it will be Snowbirds everytime.

Kathy, My wife told me this morning to start planning on going to Da'birds also. What's in the air? Alot of things will have to align perfectly for me to be able go but it looks as if I may now be doing it again. Yippeeeeeee!

The boss (wife) helped me decide lol...she wants to go with me to the different tracks in FL. She went with us to Branford and Superior now she is interested in Stricklands. I am sure we'll take a trip to the outlet mall in Orlando and stop by the Birds...Now I just need to convince her to race a car....do you so see the ultimate goal here hehehe

Oh davep this wasn't for one state race it was for the whole series (parking lot/track racing) and the 2005 Nationals.

dave got aquestion about those rc4less tires, a few of us have bought them and have been trying to run them but are having problems. we are racing on the old style ozite not the new crc stuff, that may make a big difference, but we are having a problem with inconsistancy. the tires will push and be loose at the same time and you can change hardness and you can get close but it never gets close to right and the car never ends the race the way it starts. and the kicker is if you switch back to tm or jacos the car is perfect, i'm a little confused?????????

travymoto1
12-25-2004, 11:37 AM
Mbeach2k, what compounds are you running for the rc4less and jacos or tm? BTW what are the tm's ...Murdocks?

mbeach2k
12-25-2004, 03:43 PM
jacos, lr white,rr aqua, rf purple, lf white
tm, lr white, rr white or g2, rf purple, lf white
rc4, lr white, rr started with white and tried cream and gray, rf tried tried purple and grays, lf have tried cream gray pink and purple

what kind of traction compound are you using. I am going to run black rightsides and either tan or cream leftsides at the Snowbirds. And I plan on running paragon ground effects (smelly stuff)

12-25-2004, 08:42 PM
Sorry man None of us have ran these tires on carpet yet. All I can tell you is my car has been the best it has ever been since I put these tires on.

So you track is older ozite. tell me more about the track maybe I can help out more.

Bruce from RC4less told me that he was surprised, but some guys are running 3 pinks and a purple on carpet and are doing great with them.

Here might be your problem though, RC4less exotics have 5% more rubber than all of the other brands...this gives them a bit more grip and gives them about 20% more durability. Therefore you can run a slighty harder tire and still get as much grip and another manufactures softer tire. You might be running to soft of tires all the way around. Also his hardness numbers are durometer ratings not shore ratings.

I have three bodies to paint this week and was wondering if any of you have tried painting the headlights and grill instead of using the stickers. Plus how did you do it? Most of my paint jobs are done with a 16 year old 150 badger airbrush that butt(s) probably sold to be way back when. (the receipt is still in that wooden box) hehehe

Good choice -going to the series races!I'll be going to some state races this year. Hear there is just a bit more competition than there is here in JAX. I am still ver undecided on what car to get. it is down to the TC4 or the X-Ray. With the nationals @ Speedline there is no excuse for missing them.

RCgen are you going to Robbies race on Jan 3rd? I'm thinking about it and will have power. That way you can get your new car all tuned up before Speedline. Michael is the man to ask for set-up help. You'll probably need a spring kit with all the new one's. Color code them with some paint stripes.

Hmm? Eugene has a new touring car, Fraden recommends Michael for some tuning help? Uhhh I may be wrong but I'd put money on it that it's a Corrally. Then again I'm usually wrong more than I'm right but it takes forever to get any money out of me anyway. Right Bill?

Hey I got my kid a big wheel for Christmas problem is he is to short and can't reach the pedals so I was thinking I should get Ompa Lompa (chris) over to ride the big wheel and show my kid how it works.

you know what would also be cool was if someone with a digital video camera could tape our races and put them to music. that would be cool for Georges website.

Anyone intrested in running some offroad but don't have a alot of $$$ ,buggy or truck or have one that's older than Dirt and will not compete. If you go to team associated web site and go to discontinued Kits they are selling the Factory Team T-3 for 139.99..That's pretty cheap and that is a very good truck.

I bought mine @ Walmart and I have used Motor cleaner fuel injection cleaner and brake clean. the fuel injection cleaner works the best. I hang the bearings with little zip ties off the little thing in the lid.
