How many of you display (out of box) your 1:18 scale cars?

I have quite a few openly displayed and am just curious as to who all does, and how you display them.

I've got maybe 15 displayed in some small curio cabinets with glass shelves, mirrored back, top light. I've got a few more coming this Christmas. :D Nothing stays in the box. There's just too much detail to absorb.

I love 1:18 scale, but hate trying to find display space. Right now I have some JL's clogging up one shelf, so I'm making a large wooden display case for the wall to display the 1:64.

All of my 1:18 are the inexpensive cars like Maisto, HW, Bburago. I'd love to eventually get an Autoart car, but there a little more expensive.

I was hesitant to start collecting 1:18 scale cars, but it was tough to pass up that kind of detail. Click on the following link to see all my 1:18 scale entertainment vehicles. They're in a curio cabinet..and yes, I'm quickly running out of space.

hi guys ever think of putting them outside i have about 15 on a small gravel road about 100.ft long winding around our flower beds with a few small wooden buildings here and there im planning a garden railroad this summer a few lost mirrors and odd small parts lost paint fading and windows discoulered not bad for being outside for 6 months they were all cheap ansons kids liked it i just got tired of looking at them in boxes on shelves when they look like crap i will make a small auto wreckers and put a few more new ones out total cost this summer or waste was about 250. i waste more on lottery tickets at least i enjoyed sitting outside after work having a coffee and watching a chipmunk go from one car to the next wondering what are these things im not your normal collector as you can tell i enjoy what i collect even if it is a little off the wall
to each there own

I open a few, and display a half dozen in single car display cases.
and have built a 1/18 scale diorama of a garage, So I display 2 or 3 open cars around or inside.
Space for displaying This scale is limited, But I do enjoy the detail and variety of accesories in this scale to do nice displays.
The majority of my cars never are taken out of their box, but every now and then I come across one that begs to go into the rotation.

Here's what I've planned for a while. Even have the glass.
Run a glass shelf, bout a foot deep, all around my den. Bout 6'-6.5' from the floor. High enough for most heads to clear, but low enough for reach and grab access. Clear shelving is important to make em inviting. I've got a rule in my house. If you like it, pick it up. Most non collectors have never really pawed over 1/18 cars. People just smile when they handle em. Just be sure to point out all lift off hoods!
At the moment, several curios full. Think I'm around 50 cars.

90% of mine that I still have boxes for, are in the boxes, and the rest are set on some shelving units from Menards. There are some that are set up on my dresser as kind of a garage setting. I have too many, since im only 18, my room is getting too small for them all!! And ive already moved into another room in my parents house to fit my cars!lol

everything is loose for ease of access, both for me and the kids....some on top of the tv, and the rest usually can be found somewhere on the floor....my kids especially enjoy racing both of the Munsters' cars (the Drag-U-La seems to always win)....the only one kept "under glass" is my Tucker....
