I was on www.supercar1.com any saw that ERTL is making a 1971 Road Runner model. Any idea if it is going to look like the 71 GTX model and if the car is going to have any pic off the Road Runner bird on the car?

Lets hope it gets made ! , and without those darn vinyl tops they put on every GTX & 71 Challengers ... Hopefully with the roof strobe stripes . When stuff is announce this far in advance - they dont always get made . There was supposed to be an orange 71 Duster this winter ... It got cancelled ..... Ertl changes the production quite often .

71 Road Runners didn't come with vinyl tops. I have a 71 Road runner with the strobe stripes. Does any one know if the ERTL 69 road runner and the super bird have the purple Road Runner horn in the models?

Thats good to know about 71 Road Runners , But it probably wont stop 'vinyl top on Mopars crazy - ERTL ' from doing it ... I'd like to see some other wheels besides the standard Rallye wheels too . Road Wheels ( Magnum 500's) are a real good alternative . I'll have to dig out some of my cars , but I dont think the Road Runners have the horn . I think the Superbirds do .

Dont count on the Road Runner bird being on the cars . The Superbirds no longer have them . Word is Warner Bros. wants too much royalty $$$ for it to be worth it for the toy manufactuers to pay . Ertl also listed somewhere , a 72 Challenger & 73-74 Duster in the works .
