I just started my first Christmas vacation in over 17 years. I don't really miss the old job this time of year. I have a little extra money to play with and time to play with my kids and my toys. I was thinking of ordering myself a couple of those new JLCC slots. I'm hearing some awful stories from the JL diecast BB. Has anyone ordered any slots from the JLCC lately? If so, was your stuff packed OK? Was the customer service OK?

I'm a little apprehensive about ordering from them now.

I have ordered from them in the past, no problems. Well packed, a little slow.

Marty, how far past have you ordered? Most of the problems I've been reading about have been pretty recent. I haven't ordered from them since the changeover.
I'm hoping that maybe the slotcar transactions have gone a little better, but I suppose the come from the same warehouse as the diecast. I don't really know. I probably won't order anything right away, but I would like to. In light of their recent problems, I need a little reassurance.

Mike, you should take a bit of that play money and go to HSARC. Russ and the guys just got in two pallet loads of all the newest stuff.....and they have alot of cars for god prices too right now.....like those Slot It Porsche's that you liked.

Janet and I spent several hours down there yesterday......I picked up some more parts I needed for my project Camaro and project Porsche......AND We threw down about 75 laps or so on the big road course with my wicked fast Scalextric '69 Camaro..... I was drawing quite the crowd with that car on track....it's sooooo loud with those metal gears and that big motor...

I saw a guy buy $700 worth of stuff there yesterday........ You should really think about calling them up....if you want anything in 1/32

I September I ordered my Club Membership renewal. Prior to that I ordered the Club Member only cars, the Mustangs and before that the Charger.

My membership is about up. The last things I ordered were a couple of the chrome Chargers. I've ordered a bunch of other stuff over the last few years with no problems. I'm just a little hesitant because of all the recent posts about problems with the lack of packing and customer service. I was wanting to pick up a couple of those chrome Skylines and maybe a "members only" Mustang too.

Hey Brian, did you get your 1/32 track set up at home yet? It sounds like you're building a nice little car collection. Eventually, I wouldn't mind having a few of those 1/32 cars to take out and run sometimes. I don't own any of that scale of track, so I would have to start completely over. I don't want to start investing too much into the bigger cars, when I would have to take them somewhere else to be able to run them. If I can wheel & deal and acquire some that way, then I'll probably go for it a little at a time.

The only other thing is that I would like to get my HO tracks fixed up and get everything I want for those before I take on something different. I like the 1/32s, but I already have so much of the HO stuff, including my trains, not to mention loads of tracks. I'm about to order a BRP Nitro 120 controller and some of those aftermarket radius curves too, maybe also some track skirting. Eventually, I would like to do a nice little landscaped layout with a train & slotcar set linked together. I would still love to gather a group together with the HOs. I'll be game for running up to the slot car shop and running some laps with you. I'm just not ready to jump into the 1/32s with both feet.

Well, I TRIED to order a club only mustand a couple months ago, when things where just getting hairy with the RC2 take over. I never got my mustang, and I was never charged. My membership has run out now, and I will not renew it at this point. The News Flashs are beginning to be a joke for the slot heads, as they are geared toward diecast. If it changes in the future, I may become a member again.

Mike, I did have my 1/32 track set up here man...... Janet and I have run laps on it a few times. She seems to like the 1/32 more than HO.....

Give me a call tomorrow....... do you have a hitch on your van??? If so then maybe we can hook your van to my dad's trailer....and we'll take that routed track down to your place

Russ is talking about opening the shop several days this week....... so that would be the perfect opportunity to get some track time in bro :D

My personal opinion?

Buy from someone that posts here or has a link here.
Support your vendors.
Besides, you will get more slotcars for your money.
(I think that the club cars are way overpriced. But I am not a collector...)

I got a card in the mail to renew my membership at the same time the new club slot car came out. I called to renew and order the car. The person taking the order told me the club car was not out. I hung up and looked on the site and found the number for the car. I called back and used the number to add the slot car to the renewal. The order has yet to arrive.

It usually took a couple weeks to get the club Charger and the Mustangs (even with the changeover to RC2). But consider it's almost Christmas, and the Post Office, UPS, Fed-Ex, and the other shippers are most likely swamped with the increased traffic. So it may take a third week.

I'm patiently waiting for my silver Nissan (but it's sooooo hard  when's it coming???).

My silver Nissans just came in the mail, around 2 weeks after I ordered them. Very cool cars.

I got my Nissan's today also. Two were OK. The other two had problems. One body was off the chassis and bouncing around inside the cube. The other one has a guide pin loose in the cube. No damage to them.
