Ok guys, I occasionally read the slot forum and now I have a question.
I bought a T-jet awhile back and it ran like crap. I didn't have any other T-jet to compare it to, but now I do. I just got a '68 Firebird t-jet and it runs AWESOME! So much faster! (Are X-Tractions faster?)
Now to my question.
1)The new T-jet keeps de-slotting? Is that normal? I know T-jets have weaker magnets. Can I fix this, b/c it's getting annoying.
2)I have Life-like track(yeah I know it's not that good, but it's all I have), is there any way to get some of those better controllers that aren't like a stop/go switch? The LL controllers have a little adaptor and can be detached from the track, but will Parma controllers fit it?
Thanks for any help. T-jets ROCK!!

Yes they are. They're not so much different from Tjets, but the magnets ride lower helping the downforce. I'm not sure if the arm is the same or not, but both chassis run on the same principle.

Tjets require a really smooth track. Check the rails at all the joints to make sure they're an even height. If not, tap the tall ones down with a piece of wood. This has been my main problem with deslotting Tjets, they hit that little lip and slide right out, even on a straight. No matter what, you do have to learn to finesse them around the track a little, especially with stock controllers. Also, the tires that come on the cars are nothing to write home about. You may want to buy some silicones.
Some guys have also been known to glue a small dot-magnet to the bottom of the chassis, although there's others that would call it blasphemous. I like em without.

I don't know what Lifelike's controller setup is, so I can't help you with the Parma question, but there's others here that may be able to. I think all Parma's hook up with alligator clips, so you may custom wire some driver stations, just as you would with any of the other brands of track. TJets run smoothest with a high ohm controller, like 95 or 120 ohm. Stock controllers will give you that on/off switch feel, as current models of track and controllers are meant for magnet cars and not TJets. (Remember that Tjets are 60's tech)
Hope this helps. Welcome to the board. I encourage you to sift through all the older posts, there's lots of good info there about TJets. Chances are that any question you will have has been asked before.

Thanks for the tips Shadowracer, and I agree that I have to learn to finesse them around the track, but with the Lifelike controller I have, it's nearly impossible. Hopefully someone can help me out with the controller situation.

Ok, I went back and read some of the older threads. Where can I get those little dot magnets to keep the car down? Any retail stores?
I'm still clueless about the controller??

Alright, that clears it all up. Now I just need to know if LL track is compatible with different controllers. (Preferably high-ohm since I'll be racing T-jets for the most part.)
You guys are helping a lot. Thanks! :)
