...I know very little about slot cars as when I was a child we didn't have enough money to afford such frivilous endulges. At least that's what Dad told me when I played with my cousins at Christmas....

Boy, that certainly is some way to try and sell something..... I wouldn't talk about my childhood or parents like that. Maybe they were really poor growing up....and never could afford slot cars.....even though his dad might have worked his tail off for his family.......or I could be wrong.
I know my dad grew up in a poor Mississippi farm family and never had slot cars.......they really didn't have any extra money at all.

I always take these "I don't know squat about slot cars" E-Bay caveats with a grain of salt. It's just another way of saying that you may be buying a pile of junk and the seller doesn't want to accept any blame for it. Funny how these same sellers often have dozens or more sales of the same products they don't know anything about, other than what an appropriate reserve should be.
Frivolous indulgences? Food is a frivolous indulgence, slot cars are a necessity.

Frivolous indulgences? Food is a frivolous indulgence, slot cars are a necessity. Amen AFXtoo :) There's not a pill on the market that can make you feel as good as a pair of Slotcars.
Also you notice that the ones that know nothing can never take a decent picture :)

Just another junk lot. Well if it stays at or below thirty not a bad buy. Five chassis and some bodies that maybe salvagable and a few you could make running beaters if you choose. rr

IM always interested in those piles of slot parts- every batch ive won on ebay ive managed to get runnin or use the pieces in customs, with alot of help from the guys who enter this forum and provide me with other parts as required.my childhood consisted of having to hunt, fish and trap in minnesota, when all i really wanted to do was slots, model railroad, build models and play piano and guitar. I do admire my DAD for teaching me all he knows.
