View Full Version : Kustom Paint by Travymoto1
travymoto1 12-12-2004, 03:23 PM Greetings fellow Oval racers. I am currently accepting paint orders for the Snowbirds etc. I have recently lost my picture archive via a blown harddrive but you can view a few recent bodies below. Paint jobs are $30 and I can provide the body for $22 (Protoform). I also can provide numbers ( I use Ross at DrGrafics) If I provide numbers they will be $10. I make every job unique and will give you a true custom look. I specialize in clean designs and focus good color. I seal the paint with Fastkoat for durability . I can also do metal flake(fastglitter) and chrome acents..
Email me at travymoto1@cs.com to get the ball rolling.
David Butts 12-12-2004, 04:22 PM I'll attest to Travis's ability to create some awesome one off paint jobs. He runs at the same track's I do and his cars are always sharp. Usually no two are the same.
ovalnator 12-12-2004, 11:55 PM I agree, Travis always had hot looking dirt oval rides.
travymoto1 12-13-2004, 10:28 AM Thanks for the copliments guys. I will be adding pics as I get more bodys done.

I run an L4 w/ Trinity SS ajustable mounts. For anyone that wants it, I can trim and/or mark mounting holes at no additional charge.
travymoto1 12-23-2004, 01:23 AM Again , thanks for the orders. More orders are definately welcome. Just name your main body color, flame color , and flame outline color, window ouline color, and I will work up something cool.

Tommy , I lost a server with al of my pictures on it. I'm starting my portfolio over. I have painted many offroad bodies..trucks.. buggies . The only thing I have a picture of is my B4. Shoot me an email and I will send it to you. travymoto1@cs.com
Chris, the chrome paint is alclad, you can get it in a can or in a bottle for airbrushing. You then back it with acrylic black.
travymoto1 12-27-2004, 01:27 PM IT came out great.
Thanks
Bojo, your idea for the chrome worked out awesome
rcgen 12-27-2004, 01:55 PM Travis nice job on the chrome job. Where can I get some of the chrome paint. I just got an idea what I can do with for my next body.
irvan36mm 12-27-2004, 02:49 PM Travis nice job on the chrome job. Where can I get some of the chrome paint. I just got an idea what I can do with for my next body.Eugene- Hobby World has it in spray can & airbrush forms. Be prepared to get a second job @ Lil Champ,as it is expensive for paint-but it's well worth it! lol I've used it on several of my bodies in the past. I've found that "less is better" when using it. Also gotta be real smooth on the spray job, too. Experiment on scrap lexan or an old body windshield.

travymoto1 12-27-2004, 04:20 PM You have to spray it in light even coats, but you have to do like 4-5 coats to get proper coverage. Then back it with black acrylic. Don't back it with lacquer base paint...it will actually react to the chrome and result in a not so shiny finish.
rcgen 12-27-2004, 08:05 PM You weren't kidding about the price of the paint. I stopped by to see how much. I just wanted to do my numbers and the flame tips....oh well....maybe next time....
Just order another paint job by travymoto.can't wait to get it. Starting to think I have to many cars.
