On the bench they feel great.. but on the track, the force put on them in the turns makes them bind... i always use metal balls on the upper eye, and plastic on the bottom... the metal on top takes out some of the play in the front end.. but the plastic balls are still the smoothest to me.. yes they wear out faster, but ill take that over a bind... Rupert 12-07-2004, 12:47 AM It takes a bit of work to get them free. I had to polish the kingpin and the ball to get them smooth. I would rather replace the plastic or derilin more often then to work on the alum. for a couple of hours to get them free. davz 12-07-2004, 08:25 AM I use the teflon aluminum balls in the lower because they can take a wall hit or a big bump without deflecting. If you polish the kingpins enough and use lube, they stay pretty free. I think the plastic ones get smashed in there and you don't realize it until its too late. I use the plastic ones on top because the upper arm is more delicate and the plastic ones seem to be a little more forgiving, but do wear faster. I've had the same aluminum / teflon pivots for about 2 years and they're still fine. They've been in about 4 sets of lower arms. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
