Kaug, Out of plenty of experience with Win Me, it has plenty of issues with drivers, and software. Lockups are as common in Me as they were in Win98. Any time i get a system with ME, and there are issues, formatting, and installing Win2000, or XP remedies the situation. Not something a lot of people like to hear, but the only thing i have found that works.

i'm not an expert but have had the same problem , i boot with start up disk and at the a: prompt type scanreg/fix and it does the trick just my 2 cents
i would go to add and remove programs in the control panel and remove the program first if you dont have a start up disk you can make one there also / have you used the hardware b-4 might me a game port issue might have to add one , i would remove the program and do the regrestore, and try reinstalling make sure the disk is clean

Hi, I am also using Win 2000 Me. Every once in a while it will lock up, usually when on AOL. Best thing I can do is even when computer is first turned on and boots up, I then hit start, restart and let it reboot again, and sometimes when I get off AOL and want to use puter for some other program if I go through the start, restart routine it will work fine, if I don't it will go slow and eventually lock up...Question is what resets when using the restart mode, what cleans out in other words to make puter work just fine. Do I need more memory or does the Me just get mixed up??
Thanks

The problem with windows 98 that would either lock up the computer or restart itself. I have found that there is a update that has fixed the problem for me. M.E is just a os that microsoft messed up bad on. There are fixes for the os just make sure you all the updates installed. That should take care of any problems that may occur. If you might still be having troubles, do another complete reinstall. Make sure when doing this you totally wipe your hd of any windows files.
Peace Aaron
