What could I do?

JC, First welcome to the board... Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
1. The axle on the Slimline, sounds like the splines of the axle are rubbing in the chassis holes. Is the axle an original? Friction is the worst for all chassis's but even more so on the Slimline. I am sure others may have more ideas for you to look into.

JC,
Welcome to the board. You are going to love it here.
As for you sticky rear axel, you can remove it and try to ream out the axel holes with a pin-vice drill that is the same size as the axel to be sure you have a nice smooth hole with no burrs. You can also lightly sand or file the axel (at the smooth spots where it rides in the holes...not the milled center or ends) If that dosent work, try another axel, as this one could have a slight bend that causes binding. Hope that works for ya!
