Bob Cole 11-29-2004, 06:16 PM Well I was off all last week and was really looking forward to it and I went and caught a cold. I was sick all of last week. That's the kind of luck I have.
Oh to answer your questions, with my hands. :jest:

jake86 11-30-2004, 11:07 AM Okay I have an Idea. I know I have an Idea. lol We should start up a point system for a select number of weekend this winter for a track champ. I have seen this at other track and thought it would be a good thing for us to do. It would give the guys at the track something to shoot for. Just a thought. What does everyone think?

SmoothRider 11-30-2004, 03:45 PM So give me a little info on this. Are you guys in this for the long haul? Spending that much money on one of these things and then finding out nowhere to race gets expensive, ala the race place.
2nd. How many drivers weekly are you expecting could show up to race?
3rd. is a 10L4 a decent car to run or what type of chassis do you think is good to run for oval? anybody know of a nice setup for sale anywhere?
4. What are you going to charge for racing weeky? Are you going to have a website setup for results and stuff?
5. Is this going to be Saturday night racing only, or a couple days a week racing?
6. Is this a newer building or older one? Is there eating places close by?
Sorry for all the questions, but would love to get into this type of racing if alot of people do it. Anything else you guys want to mention would be of great help. Thanks
jake86 11-30-2004, 04:44 PM Well SmoothRider the easy way to answer you questions is for you to give me a call. It would take to long to type it all out on here. My number is 881-4877.
What is your name that way I know who is calling me.
Mine is
Jason Jackson
BrentP 11-30-2004, 05:16 PM We would like to meet with everyone interested in club proceedings at the building this Sunday at 1:00pm. We will also be working on the floor that day so please bring whatever tools you think might be helpfull & dress for the occasion. If you need directions to the building you can either call Jason or email me bopearcy@basspro.com. Again, if you want to have input on initial club proceedings, you will want to be at this meeting.

SmoothRider 12-01-2004, 01:20 PM Can a TC3 run oval very good or not? I've got one with no where to race it at. and I would only be doing this stuff during the winter, so don't really wanna fork out the money for new stuff. I'm sure it wouldn't be the fastest thing in the world, but it would still be something to race on the weekends.

We will also be setting up a road coarse to run foam tire tourning cars on so you will have that option.

SmoothRider 12-01-2004, 01:33 PM Ok, so these cars don't ever race with the pan cars that you guys run if there is not enough that show up? Is it because the pan cars handle alot better, and are alot faster or the 4WD on the TC3 or what? I'm new to the carpet oval scene, just curious.
BrentP 12-01-2004, 01:40 PM A few reasons.
1. They are allot heavier & can tear up a pan car pretty quick.
2. They do not handle as well which causes traffic problems.
3. They are not as fast which causes more traffic problems.
4. They are no where near the same type of chassis.
We try to run the same type cars in each class just to keep the rules as simple as possible.

JohnDarnell 12-07-2004, 12:35 PM There is a new carpet track in the works now. Perfect Slot on Pythian. He has removed the sand from the indoor volleyball courts and is putting in an indoor dirt track this week, indoor carpet track to follow, outdoor drag strip and an outdoor on-road course by spring. If it all comes through, it will be a nice place.
BrentP 12-07-2004, 12:49 PM That is good news! We are working hard to get our track finished soon & will be racing there for the time being. We don't care where we race as long as we have a place to do it. How soon do you think he will have the carpet track running?

Thanks for the information. Looks like that will be a top notch place. I really hope it works out.
JohnDarnell 12-07-2004, 03:45 PM Definitely keep working on your club deal, that is the only for sure thing you guys can control. If this other deal comes through, it will give you guys another racing option. Not sure on a timeline for the carpet.

Well, the dirt is already in and ready to race on at the RacePlace. Races start at 6pm Saturday.
The Perfect Slot is moving sand out right now and will get dirt in about two weeks, I assume. A couple local racers will be putting the track in and running the races. Not my place to say who. I do not know his plans as to what night to run the different tracks. He is ordering a new AMB system with 20 transponders, two loops, two junction boxes, etc. He is planning on ordering new carpet soon. The dirt track will be 90'x50' and the carpet will be 60'x50'. Stop by and see Chris if you want to.

Thank you for the info. I will not be going to the race place ever again. Sounds like the carpet will be more for OnRoad Only. Well if it is Butch Like I have heard I'm sure it will be a well built track. I will have to stop by and look at it in a week or so.
jake86 12-08-2004, 06:30 PM I have seen a preview of the new web site and it looks real good. I would like to thank brent for the time he has and will be putting into the site.
