I know I may be opening a can of worms with this question, but.........

Which truck do you prefer? I am in the process of purchasing a truck to race at a new track in Louisville, KY and wanted some opinons. Which are easier to build? Which one would be better on hard packed clay? Which one is more durable? Any input is welcome.

Thanks,

David :)

Hehehehe yea you are but i am gonna start .. The factory t4 out of the box is a very good truck .You dont have to alot of adjustments and on a high bite track there tuff to beat cause they have good steering imo. Now the down side i have seen thembreak servo savers and A arms .. The mf2 imo does not steer and there is a few mods that you have to do to make it steer better. Though the mf2 is about impossible to break..
I have had both trucks and drive a mf2 but theres days i still want a t4 .. :)

For months I was going back and forth between the T4 and the MF2. Tough decision. I decided to go with the MF2. The Losi is a very tough truck. The only problem I have is steering. Any ideas on improving the steering issue. It handle the jumps much better than the T4.

They are both great trucks. I own the MF2. It is way more durable, seriously, it is,...it has a faster transmission, more adjustible than the T4, I don't want to start an argument with people but the MF2 is a better truck in my opinion. From what I have heard is one thing about the T4 that is better is that it is easier to wrench on. And on a previous post about the T4 saying it is better out of the box, is NOT true. The T4 is a good truck, but its out of the box setup SUCKS. Ask anyone who has a T4,...they will say it is a good truck but they will also say that out of the box, it sucks.

i would choose the mf2 i run one and it is great. i have always been a losi fan and i tried one of my friends t4's and it wasnt that great. i have only had one problem with the mf2 and that was the trans case. i broke one in half when i went to race it and another friend snapped one and melted one. but my friend with the t4 it took hem forever to set it up and he broke things by just going down a straight away. i let him use my mf2 and he really liked it. he said that he would get one but he wants an 1/8th scale..... so my pick would be the mf2 and alot of people like the mf2 also

I tried both trucks and own an mf2 only because i got great deal on a trade for it. I was going to buy a t4 becuase compared to my t3 it handled and jumped way better. The mf2 is very easy to drive on a small tight track area with tight turns, from what i noticed the t4 handles better on a big track rather than a small track. It all coems down to how well you drive each car, the mf2 has a better more adjustable suspension wher the t4 is limited but its up to you and how well you drive both of them.

Either one is an excellent choice.

Just go with the T4. Just kidding. I like the AE stuff a little better.
Either truck can be made to do what you want. Its almost a matter of preference. Which ever one will not be a bad decision. What do the fast guys at your track run. Go with the majority.

Wow. Alot of MF2 supporters, but not many T4 supporters speaking up.

I live in a very competitive area and I can say that many of the fast guys have switched to the T4 since it came out, I think that says something about the T4.

That being said, I run a MF2 and love it. I have no problem steering it (Pro-line Edges on the front), if anything it has too much steering. I run mine at kit set up and am noticeably faster with it than I was with the MF1 and it feels more stable.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I went to the track last night and decided on the MF2. According to the guys at the shop, and the responses to my question here, you really can't go wrong with either truck. I am just glad we have two companies competing against each other with the end result of us racers having two good choices.

It is best to go with the majority at your track. That means more set-up information available. I run a T-4 at a track full of Losi's and have a hard time finding set-up help. The fast guys can only give you so much help when they run a different truck..

well i have noticed speed diffrence my mf2 i usually race dirt offroad, but now our club races indoor carpet. and i decided to race truck oval this year and i am still running outdoor gearing like 19/86 and i flew by everyone in that class in the class were t4's, 1 or 2 mf2's, and xxxt's. they geared it up from outdoor. i also get more acelleration. also i was racing onetime and i didnt like the way i did so i slammed it in to a wall on the track and nothing broke.

Yeah,

MF2's do real well at our track but the A-main winner is driving a T3. I even know good racers who got rid of there T4's to get T3's again!

the only one from ae to go anywhere was billy easton, and he was pretty much a racer, also if some left that gives the chance to replace them with better more expirenced people

I myself, had both at one time. I like the T-4 on our off-road. But the Losi works better on Dirt oval. So the T-4 went away. Of course my Losi is a XXX-T.

They are both great trucks in my opinion. There is an even mix of Losi and Associated at the Route 106 dirt track (Pembroke, NH) and both are capable of winning. One of our real good drivers has both and he prefers the Losi, but just barely.

I run a T4 and like it very much. It did take a little tweeking to get it to run well, but it now handles better than my T3 ever did.

Maybe it's only a problem up here on the Northeast, but some of the hobby shops don't seem to stock a lot of Losi parts. That can be a factor in making a selection.

True but nothing on mf2 breaks! I hit a step ladder with some one on it at the local track a wheel barrel a barb wire fence.. A head on with a t4 and i broke a shock bolt.

I truly think the mf2 is impossible to break.. Only thing i broke are shock bolts and rear ball studs..

mfortuna

I havn't seen much break on either. A couple losi guys stripped out rear wheels. I guess the nut was loose and the pin rotated around until the slot was gone.

Breakage isn't the only concern though, gears strip, shocks need to be rebuilt, etc.

BTW, I love my XXX-4 G+. But if associated made a 4wd buggy I probably would buy it. I also have a mini-T.

Not a dig against Losi, but both the XXX-4 and XXX-4 G+ I bought were missing parts or had wrong parts that prevented assembly. I never had that happen with an Associated kit.

I love Losi and have never broken my MF2........nor have I ever seen anyone brake theirs.....but they are not indestructible.........
