I have recently purchased a Savage 21 after reading many rock solid reviews. I am still new to nitro r/c and this is second nitro truck. My first rc10gt was a breeze to set up and break in and I think it gave me a false sense of knowledge. I am having trouble getting my .21BB to run long enough to break in(less than about 30 seconds). My big concern is the needle settings. I understand the factory settings are 3.5 turns from closed on the high and low needles, 2mm gap with the idle adj., and hpi recommends not messing with the mid range. After about a week of fruitless effort, thinking the needles were factory set, I decided to reset the needles myself to get a fresh start. I found that the high range was about 7 turns out and the low range was about 5.5 turns out. I started this hobby again with much enthusiam and do not want to end up disgusted. Any helpful info would be appreciated
