how can i keep kids from pressing buttons on computer while i'm at work.is there a way i can disable keyboard or mouse.any help would be appriciated.

if you REALLY wanted to get technical, find the power wire to the keyboard and mouse and install a toggle switch so that you can flip it on and they work or flip it off and they dont work.

or go into task manager and stop explorer.exe then when you want to get back on, go new task: explorer.exe (thats how i keep my mom off my comp)

hmm just turn off the machine.

why not turn on a screen saver with password, thus when you're away it locks the screen. they can type all they want but it would do nothing.

but.... they could restart the machine.. and just go back in...

to remedy that, use a password on your login. most computer logins have no password thus is boots right in.. or you just hit enter at the login.

if you have a usb keyboard and mouse, just unplug it or hide it.

i say hide em or unplug em but most are smarter and find em or plug em back in. if you want to get caveman on it take the keyboard and mouse with you. if its xp. xp's got a keyboard program and they can still screw it up if the mouse is there. kids just love soda too. arghhhhhhh replaced my keyboard three times because of my neice.
