2 JLTO WL; 1 common JLTO; and 3 MM specialty cars. already the auction is at $175!!!! arent the MM cars only $25-30?
AfxToo 11-24-2004, 12:58 PM You could probably just go out and buy all those cars for the current $175 bid. They are mostly very nice cars, the Grand Sport is ordinary stuff, but I don't think it's a "deal" at the current bid price. But then again, JL White Thunders don't impress me much but some folks pay big bucks for them.
roadrner 11-24-2004, 02:28 PM They are worth whatever the bidder is willing to sacrifice. But definitely too much for me to bid on as I don't worry about getting the white ones either. ;) rr
micyou03 11-24-2004, 03:25 PM Actually I believe that '55 with flames went for $50 bucks and the S&M GTX was $30 . The rest are worth whatever the bidder is will to sacrifice. But definitely too much for me to bid on as I don't worry about getting the white ones either. ;) rr
I got the pair (black w/ flames & white w/ flames) from Bud's HO for $45 shipped.

My mistake, thought that was a per car price but MM has that for a pair as well. DOH! rr
micyou03 11-24-2004, 03:52 PM So, all those cars would cost $170 online retail.
mking 11-24-2004, 05:17 PM but only when i get 11 normal cars for free!!!!

so $110 for 2 WL (plus $10 or so shipping); $45 for a pair of flamed MM '55 chevys =$165 for 26 cars verses 7.
i guess i could live without the mustang and the socks and martin car.....
if you add up the straight retail prices of the cars, $25.00 each for the 4 MM cars and then $14.95 for the JL's ( suggested retail I know everybody in the world cuts throats these over the internetbut just for this example lets pretend that they are $14.95 ) you get $145.00 , so right now it's not that far off base . But you never know it only takes two not so bright , but ever so willing bidders to drive the price into the silly zone . !
madsapper 11-24-2004, 07:00 PM It gets crazy. I watched a white/ wblack stripe MM GTX go for 39.99 last evening.
I have all but the pace car, and have $110 into them. I guess I did well..

One other thing to consider is this is prime time to be selling darn near anything on Ebay....simply because so many people don't want to get out and brave the Christmas shopping crowds......so they don't mind spending a bit more if need be to get presents.
A/FX Nut 11-25-2004, 08:54 AM I remember when the JL Pullbacks came out 5 years ago. People were bidding $40.00 for the Charger Tjet reproduction on Ebay. I was going to Meijers and getting them for $3.13 per car, and that was with sales tax. I agree that a slot car is worth what a buyer and seller agree to. That's between them. But sometimes I think there is more money than common sense being used. This auction for $175.00 is above what I would pay for. I don't like the seller saying the black and white Vette is a special edition. As AFX Too pointed out it is ordinary. The white thunders and black Vette are C-9 because they have been removed from the box. The others are not fastened to the case and I'm not sure if MM seals those boxes with tape or something.

The few boxed MM's I've bought weren't sealed.....just in a plastic case with foam inserts.
micyou03 11-28-2004, 11:53 PM None of my MMs were sealed even the ones and I bought from a few different dealers.
