View Full Version : Best T-plate Pivot Ball and Cup combo? c barsalow 11-19-2004, 02:29 PM What is the best combo? burbs 11-19-2004, 04:31 PM if u can get delrin cups get them they rule.. otherwise i find the irs or hyperdrive balls with teflon coating, and the stock cups work best... bronze ones work, but all mine seem to big bigger then the reg balls c barsalow 11-19-2004, 05:54 PM Obviously delrin is best but from where/who? All the balls I have bought are out of round and the cups are as bad or worse....never mind the size difference. Whatever happened to quality control....I want some undersized cups and oversized balls I can remachine and polish myself.....any ideas? burbs 11-19-2004, 06:21 PM nothing is perfect.. i polish mine and u just have to properly tweak the screws on the cups.. i havent had one yet i couldnt make super free... just takes some time. and patiance lol... c barsalow 11-19-2004, 07:00 PM i am sick of the patience thing. I want it to fit right the first time::) SHADOW 11-19-2004, 07:20 PM i am sick of the patience thing. I want it to fit right the first time::) Then you're in the wrong hobby:p burbs 11-19-2004, 11:57 PM every single fast rc racers spends hours building a car righht... there is no easy way.. the easy way would be to go to by a pre built kit.. but we al know how competitive they are... i spend aprox a hour on each corner of my car.. making sure everything is snug, yet smooth and free... slop or binding is a major killer for any setup. the slightest little thing can be the difference in a car working good or bad... Pan cars require the most work.. they are in some ways the most basic of rc cars, but thats why it takes so much to keep them runing right... Roadsplat 11-20-2004, 01:10 AM Does KGB still make the delrin ball sockets? Last time I bought some I got them from JPH Racing but I didn't see any listed on the web site. pepe 11-20-2004, 10:47 AM I've used the kgb sockets and they work really good but you can acheive the same results without the delrin, and at less cost. burbs 11-20-2004, 12:29 PM no kgb does not make them anymore/... huffrcman 11-20-2004, 01:42 PM Also do not over tighten them. c barsalow 11-22-2004, 04:12 PM I meant the above sarcasticly.....Just looking to see what is out there that may be better quality than what I have seen. I have spent as many if not more hours building and maintaining cars than most people and realize time is necessary if you want it right. Rupert 11-23-2004, 01:08 AM Try the ones from CRC they are mainly 12th and touring company but their alum pivot balls and plastic sockets are the smoothest one I have used. c barsalow 11-23-2004, 01:54 PM Thanks PEPE and Rupert! I knew someone would have some idea of where the quality ones were! I'll try the CRC and KGB..... kgbracing 12-03-2004, 09:08 PM KGB no longer sells derlin pivot sockets. they are too cost prohibitive to have made now :( the key to using AE pivot socket is finding the smallest pivot ball you can, then sand the ae socket down till it fits that ball really well. some pivot balls are just too large. also all pivot sockets (that arent machined (read all but delrin)) arent exactly the same size, so sometimes its best to just not use some plastic, just save them for later when you might have the right size pivot ball to use them. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
