I remember an article from Modeler's Resource sometime ago announcing that there would be a completely computer generated POPEYE show. Well, I finally saw the dvd in the store yesterday, it's titled: Popeye's Voyage: the Quest for Pappy. I looked it up just now on www.dvdpricesearch.com (http://www.dvdpricesearch.com) and read that it originally aired on Fox! This is the first I've heard of it!

Do any of you Popeye fans have any info on this CGI program? It's apparently scripted by Paul Reiser ( Mad About You ). The character designs look very Fleischer-esque... but, will Fleischer fanatics like myself enjoy it, or bemoan it????

Saw the DVD at Wal-Mart the other night. I'll probably try to find one in a video store first and rent it...

CGI was a little flat looking in the box art, but not bad...

Saw a commercial for it a day or two ago. Wasn't long enough to get any idea of the CGI quality.

I found this rather interesting:

You can read a review and watch the trailer. It seems to have some of the typical shortcomings of most quickly done CGI subjects. However, it's interesting enough that I just may get it.
