I know they had the "chase cars'.. the Thunderbolt and the Cougar in chrome... were there or are there any more of these?

found a chrome 66 Nova today and on the back of the card, it just had the list with the Thunderbolt and Cougar listed as chase cars... didn't even have the Nova on the list...

was this a regular issue? it is the ugly (fat) RC casting of the Nova, but I do like Novas...

I hope somebody can answer this question as I found one of these at K-mart today as well. Chrome with the Super Sport Tampos on the rear quarters.

According to their website, those were the only three. When you get to the home page, click on the tab that lists 1/64 cars in display cases.
Those suckers are VHTF! I'm still waiting for the June release to hit my store. I'd love to get that '31 Cadillac in white, I have the black one from the Mint Edition.

Awesome! I kinda thought this one was different. It's the only Route 66 car I have bought. Looks nice enough. I never considered buying any Route 66 cars before because I had no knowledge of thier quality or value. Thanks for the info!

well,... I'll have to go back and see if it's still there, but probably not...
don't know if I should feel bad or not, the card was a bit messed up...

...by the way, I have a little set I was going to get rid of for any Ford Thunderbolt doods... it's the Route 66 Chrome chase and the Hot Wheels TH Thunderbolt... anyone? sale or trade?

I would like to have one of those GSX's. Any chance you could pick one up for me if they still have them so I can avoid the "epay" price's? :)

I might be interested in getting that RTE 66 T-Bolt from you if you still are looking to sell it. Hit me up with a PM or you can e-mail me at Traveldad6@aol.com. Thanks!

I picked up one of the 70 Buick GSX chase cars yesterday.... There seems to be a partial fingerprint on the roof of the car and a very bad job of gluing the driver's side mirror onto the car. Think I should crack it open clean off the extra glue?

Same person must have packed my Nova. Same partial on the roof and a poor job of gluing the rearview mirror on. Wierd......

Yes Chrome Chase cars so far are Thunderbolt , 69 Cougar ,Nova & Buick GSX . They list on the package whats current at the time . The Buick is the newest one .... The Tow Trucks are also the Chase cars in the Police series .. I have seen the white 31 Caddy around here . Different KMarts have different prices . The blister pac cars range from $2.99 - $3.20 . The ones in display cases range from $4.99 - $5.49 . Dont know why different stores charge different prices . Seen the 1/18 cars with varying prices too . Ive been hunting for the 1/64 60 Ford Starliner & 1/18 56 Ford cv & 67 Shelby . Nothing here yet !....

I found a Chrome "Chase" Cougar Eliminator at K-mart this past Friday. When I opened it up, the following occurred: The hood fell off. The dash piece inside was rattling around inside the car. One wheel fell off allowing the axle and oppisite wheel to come off as well. Yes I returned the car and the Nova I had found as well. It seems the quality of these cars may be a little suspect. I know it may be just one car in this shape, but for $5.29, you should at least expect better quality than this. So I won't be adding the Route 66 cars to my collection. :(

I have not had the quality issues with Ertls 1/64 cars like some here did . Most have been fine . I have had a few JLs with hoods that wont shut or dont fit right , bad touch up etc... When I opened my Mopar TRU 10 car set , the hood is so loose on the Dodge Ram truck that it might fall off . However , as with most of my Ertl stuff , most of the JL stuff is fine ..

I was wondering about this! I saw a chrome T-bolt at K-mart recently and noticed it was different, but for $5 price that was really pushing it for a 1/64 car so I passed on it. Maybe I should have reconsidered?? It may have been useful for trade for something else???

My local K-mart has had some chrome Cougars untouched for over a year. I think they just look silly..although the regular issue cars are fantastic! i buy every 1/64 one i can find...They are really great models...

Im surprised those chrome chase cars sit at your KMarts so long ! I rarely even find any around here ! They usually sell quite well on ebay . Even most reg issues are hard to find .

I'm surprised that these "chase car" types are as popular as they are. You really can't say they make a good-looking toy. They are desired,I suspect, just because they are "rare".which doesn't seem like a good enough reason. i left the chrome Cougar there and bought a blue one..
