I'm going to be in the Orlando area Thanksgiving day till the following Monday. Does anyone know of a track racing oval in that area then?
I plan to stop by the hotel where the snowbirds are held to check it out, but it'd be nice to race too.

Talk to Katf1sh on this board!! He runs the FOCAR series in Florida & they run a lot of races at RPM Speedway in Orlando. I don't know what the regular schedule is there but he'll be able to help you.

Focars is done for the year. Theres a big oval carpet race that weekend in Largo at Minnreg, so most of the other tracks will probably be closed that weekend as the racers will be attending the "Turkey Shoot" at Minnreg. It's about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Orlando. Address for Minnreg is 6340 126th Ave North in Largo, if you want to use MapQuest or something similar for directions. Practice on Friday, Quals. on Sat and Mains on Sunday. It's a great race, so if you can make it, you'll have a blast.

I'm only going to be there Thurs through Sunday, and I'm going to spend the holidays with family. If it was one day, I could probably sneak away, but given that race is the whole weekend, it probably won't work.
Darn, cause it sounds like a whole lot of fun!

There's 3 qualifiers on Saturday and entry is only $15, so even though you'd miss the mains, you could still get a whole lot of racing in. You could also come on Friday just to mess around. I doubt if they'd charge you for practice. Either way you'd get a fix.
I understand "thanks for the turkey, cya" might not fly too well. LOL

I may just do that! Do you have a number I can contact someone for specific information?
