oh yippee yay another battery thread!

With the new GP cells, from what I hear you should be able to get 1.175-1.180's fairly easy (at 30 amps). Those are plenty to put you up front, just get the car handling.

What track is it your talking about...glens falls?

Just keep getting new ones. Buy 2 packs, with decent voltage, and replace them often. New sticks ALWAYS run better, I dont care what the T-30 says.

@ 30 amps 1.17 with 400 seconds are plenty good enough. TQ CELLS are matched @ 35 and in my opinion, 35 is the way to go, you need 1.16+ and 340 seconds.

I would say, if you want to be competitive with the sponsored guys,
the numbers you should be looking for are 20's.
The ones that you keep in your wallet, and don't mind getting rid of for
fresh packs....

If you want to run 'decent' with guys like yourself, don't abuse your packs,
take care of them, and they and you, will be happy for quite a while...

You usually don't end up with a bad pack regardless of who you get the cells from. For me it varies with who has the numbers I need and at what price. I've gotten mine from SMC Racing, Pro Match, Poles Position, TQ Cells, Integy and a couple of other matchers - even purchases some bulk cells from Pro Match but for the price they made good practice packs or it's possible to get 1-2 good packs out of the box of 24 cells. Even 20amp matched like the Integy brands will perform great once you start cycling and discharging them at 30 amps.

A couple of the matchers are now going to 35amp matching (TQ cells, SMC Racing) cells still seem to hold up well but do have a little more punch. As mentions the numbers are a little different and price is still about the same as 30amp packs.

It doesnt matter what the labels say. Just charge at 9 amps and its all good. :)
